Four Lanes, Beacon and Troon is an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom which returns one member to sit on Cornwall Council. It was created at the 2021 local elections, being created from the former divisions of Camborne Treslothan and Four Lanes. The current councillor is Sally Weedon, a Conservative. Boundaries Four Lanes, Beacon and Troon represents the southern portion of the parish of Camborne and the southern portion of the parish of Carn Brea. Four Lanes ( kw, Peder Bownder) is a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom approximately south of Redruth at in the civil parish of Carn Brea. Pencoys is a smaller settlement which adjoins Four Lanes immediately to the south. St Andrew's Church was consecrated by Bishop Benson in 1881. Geography Four Lanes and Pencoys are on the upland plateau of the Carnmenellis granite batholith. Four Lanes village centre is 220 metres (720 feet) above sea level. The village is centred on The Square which is at a crossroads where the north-to-south B3297 Redruth- Helston road is intersected by unclassified lanes to Stithians (south-east) and Carnkie (north-west). Carnkie, Redruth
Carnkie is a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately one and a half miles south west of Redruth. It is in the civil parish of Carn Brea. The village is built largely along the Great Flat Lode (a massive mineral trail that was extensively mined), and is surrounded by numerous derelict mine buildings, most of which were built by the mining magnate, Lord de Dunstanville and Basset. There is a Methodist chapel building at the centre of the village which closed in 2010. The Methodist congregation now meet at Carnkie Village Hall every Sunday at 10:30am and in May 2015 celebrated their 5th year since moving. Vehicular access to Carn Brea is gained through Carnkie, at the summit can be found a monument dedicated to Lord de Dunstanville and Basset, and Carn Brea Castle, originally believed to be a hunting lodge, but which these days serves as a restaurant. Troon, Cornwall
Troon ( kw, Trewoon) is a village in Cornwall, UK, southeast of Camborne. The village lies at around above sea level. An electoral ward named Troon and Beacon covers the area north from ''Troon'' to the outskirts of Camborne. The population at the 2011 census was 5,410. There were once important copper and tin mines near Troon, including the Grenville Mines. Wheal Grenville began to be worked in the 1820s though it was not productive until the 1850s, at which time the South and East mines were worked independently. In 1906 these mines were united with South Condurrow to form the Grenville United Mines and continued until 1920. The mineral Condurrite is a compound mineral named after the Great Condurrow Mine at Troon. The King Edward Mine is still situated on the outskirts of the village on the Carn Brea Road.
