Fornells De Mar
Fornells de Mar (zipcode 17255), also known as Platja de Fornells or simply Fornells, is a village, bay and port on the Costa Brava and in the municipality of Begur, Catalonia, Spain. It lies between and Tamariu. It was formerly mainly a fishing village and there is still some fishing activity. Fornells is the site of the Port d'Aiguablava, a marina with 61 moorings operated by the Club Nàutic Aiguablava. Within Fornells itself there are, from north to south, the larger beach of ''Platja Fonda'', and the smaller coves of ''Cala n’Estasia'', ''Cala Port de ses Orats'', ''Cala d’en Malaret'' and ''Cala Port d’Esclanyà''. Aiguablava
The Cala d'Aiguablava is a small bay on the Costa Brava, Girona, Catalonia (Spain) near Begur and Palafrugell with a small beach (busy in the summer months) and a few mainly seafood restaurants. It is a popular mooring place for sailing and motor boats. Overlooking the bay on one side is a large parador, the ''Parador De Aiguablava'', situated high on a clifftop. The GR 92 long distance footpath, which runs the length of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, crosses the beach. Costa Brava
The Costa Brava (; ; "Wild Coast" or "Rough Coast") is a coastal region of Catalonia in northeastern Spain. Sources differ on the exact definition of the Costa Brava. Usually it can be regarded as stretching from the town of Blanes, northeast of Barcelona, to the France, French border – in other words it consists of the coast of the province of Girona. In the 1950s, the Costa Brava was identified by the Spanish government and local entrepreneurs as being suitable for substantial development as a holiday destination, mainly for package holiday tourists from Europe. Begur () is a village and municipality in the comarca of Baix Empordà and province of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. The village itself lies some from, and above, the coastline of the Costa Brava, but the municipality includes several seaside resorts. The municipality of Begur has 3,986 inhabitants (according to the census of 2005). It is an important tourist attraction in the Baix Empordà. During the summer, the population can exceed 40,000 people. Despite its tourist character, the village has important historical remnants that go back in early history. The castle of Begur is a good example of medieval remains. The castle was constructed in the 16th and 17th centuries. Tamariu
Tamariu (, Catalan for ''tamarisk'') is one of three coastal towns belonging to the municipality of Palafrugell, province of Girona, Spain, the other two being Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc. It is part of the Costa Brava, the coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, in the comarca of Baix Empordà. It is situated about south of the border with France and close to the nearby inland towns of Palafrugell and Begur. The name ''Tamariu'' derives from the presence of many tamarisk trees along the promenade, which separates the beach from the narrow streets and whitewashed buildings of the town. Tamariu was originally a small fishing village, and fishing boats are still to be seen drawn up on the beach. GR 92
The GR 92 is part of the extensive GR footpath network of paths, tracks and trails in Spain. It will eventually run the length of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, from Portbou, on the border with France to Tarifa, the most southerly point of Spain. In doing so it will pass through the autonomous communities of Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia. The sections in Catalunya and Murcia are complete and fully signposted, but work is still in progress on the sections in Valencia and Andalusia, and sources differ on the eventual length of the path. The GR 92 forms the southern portion of the E10, one of the European long-distance paths. The E10 runs between Finland and Spain. ''Quercus suber'', commonly called the cork oak, is a medium-sized, evergreen oak tree in the section Quercus sect. Cerris, ''Quercus'' sect. ''Cerris''.
