There have been five Formula One drivers from Monaco. Current drivers Charles Leclerc currently competes for Scuderia Ferrari. He made his Formula One debut for Sauber at the 2018 Australian Grand Prix. In the season he finished a season high of sixth in 2018 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Azerbaijan and finished the season on 39 points. He is the first Monaco, Monégasque driver to List of Formula One Grand Prix winners, win a Formula One race, which he achieved at the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix, the first Monégasque to win the 2024_Monaco_Grand_Prix, Monaco Grand Prix in the Formula One era, and the first Monégasque driver to start a race from List of Formula One polesitters, pole position, set a List of Formula One drivers who set a fastest lap, fastest lap, or lead the World Drivers' Championship standings. Louis Chiron
Louis Alexandre Chiron (; 3 August 1899 – 22 June 1979) was a Monégasque racing driver who competed in rallies, sports car races, and Grands Prix. Among the greatest drivers between the two World Wars, his career embraced over thirty years, starting in 1923, and ending at the end of the 1950s. He is still the oldest driver ever to have started a race in the Formula One World Championship, having taken 6th place in the 1955 Monaco Grand Prix when he was 55. Three years later he became the oldest driver to enter a Formula One race, at 58. The Bugatti Chiron takes its name from him. The Maserati 250F was a racing car made by Maserati of Italy used in '2.5 litre' Formula One racing between January 1954 and November 1960. Twenty-six examples were made. Mechanical details The 250F principally used the SSG, 220 bhp (at 7400rpm) capacity Maserati A6 straight-six engine, ribbed 13.4" drum brakes, wishbone independent front suspension, a De Dion tube axle, Borrani 16" & 17" wheels and Pirelli Stella Bianca tyres. It was built by Gioacchino Colombo, Vittorio Bellentani and Alberto Massimino; the tubular work was by Valerio Colotti. The 1959 Monaco Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Circuit de Monaco on 10 May 1959. It was race 1 of 9 in the 1959 World Championship of Drivers and race 1 of 8 in the 1959 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. It was also the 17th Monaco Grand Prix. The race was held over 100 laps of the three kilometre circuit for a race distance of 315 kilometres. The race was won by Australian racer Jack Brabham driving a Cooper T51 for the factory Cooper Car Company team. It was the first win for Brabham, a future three-time world champion. The Monaco Grand Prix () is a Formula One motor racing event held annually on the Circuit de Monaco, in late May or early June. André Testut
André Testut (13 April 1926, Lyon – 24 September 2005, Lyon) was a French-born racing driver and team owner from Monaco. Career Testut's debut in racing took place at the beginning of September 1956 at the Course de Cote de Vuillafans-Echevanne in France, driving an O.S.C.A. MT4 roadster where he finished second. This was followed up with a 3rd-place finish at the wheel of a Porsche 356 at the Coupe d’Automne toward the end of September. In 1957 Testut partnered with his compatriot Louis Chiron for the 24th edition of the Mille Miglia. The two raced a Citroen DS19 under the monicker Montecarlo Team and finished in 103rd place. Testut's victory at the Vuillafans-Echevannes sport car event in 1957 earned him a congratulatory letter from the Maserati brothers, who had formed OSCA after being forced out of their company bearing their name. The 1958 Monaco Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 18 May 1958 at Circuit de Monaco, Monaco. It was race 2 of 11 in the 1958 World Championship of Drivers and race 2 of 10 in the 1958 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The race was the 16th Monaco Grand Prix and was held over 100 laps of the three kilometre circuit for a total race distance of 314 kilometres. The 1955 Monaco Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Monaco on 22 May 1955. It was race 2 of 7 in the 1955 World Championship of Drivers and was given an honorary name, ''Grand Prix d'Europe''. 1950 Formula One Season
The 1950 Formula One season was the fourth season of the FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the inaugural FIA World Championship of Drivers, which was contested over seven races between 13 May and 3 September 1950. The only one outside of Europe was the Indianapolis 500, which was run to AAA National Championship regulations. No Formula One drivers competed in the Indy 500 or vice versa. Finally, the season also included several non-championship races for Formula One cars. Alfa Romeo entered a supercharged 158, a well-developed pre-war design that debuted in 1938, and managed to win all six races they competed in. Italian Giuseppe "Nino" Farina and Argentine teammate Juan Manuel Fangio both won three races and set three fastest laps.
