Ford Duratec Engine
Ford Duratec engine is a line of engines used by Ford of Europe and United States for the company's range of gasoline-powered I3, I4, I5 and V6 passenger car engines. The first Duratec engine was co-designed by Ford and Porsche and introduced as the Duratec V6 in the 1993 Ford Mondeo. Ford would supsequently brand other gasoline engines unrelated to the original V6 with the ''Duratec'' name. The Ford Zeta engine, Ford Sigma engine and Ford Cyclone engine all carry the Duratec name, but are otherwise unrelated to each other or the original 1993 Duratec V6. The ambiguous use of the name is similar to Ford's use of the Zetec for the previous generation of gasoline engines, the Duratorq name for diesel engines, and EcoBoost for turbocharged gasoline engines. Ford-Werke GmbH is a German-based car manufacturing company headquartered in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. It is a fully-owned subsidiary of American Ford Motor Company. It operates two large manufacturing facilities in Germany, a plant in Cologne and a plant in Saarlouis, and serves as a major hub for Ford's presence in the European markets. Berlin origins The earliest presence of the Ford Motor Company in Germany was a parts operation set up in Hamburg in 1912. Although less common than straight-four engines and straight-six engines, straight-five engine designs have been used by automobile manufacturers since the late 1930s. The Fiesta Mark IV (post-facelift known as Mark V in the United Kingdom) (internal code name was ''BE91'') was launched in October 1995 and became Britain's best-selling car from 1996 to 1998, when it was overtaken by the all-new Ford Focus, a replacement for the Ford Escort (Europe), Ford Escort. Ford Fiesta (seventh Generation)
The Ford Fiesta Mk7 (Mk8 in the United Kingdom) is the seventh and last generation of the Ford Fiesta supermini. Originally introduced in 2016, it was available in both 3-door hatchback and panel van derivatives. In 2018, the Fiesta ST was released. The model underwent a facelift in 2022. Production On November 29, 2016, the seventh-generation Fiesta (Mark VII, or Mark VIII in UK) was announced in Germany, being bigger, roomier, safer, more efficient, and more upmarket. The Ford Fiesta Mk6/Mark VI (Mk7 in the United Kingdom, model code WS/WT/WZ in Australia) is the sixth generation of the Ford Fiesta supermini. The sixth generation Fiesta was shown in a concept car form as the Ford Verve at the International Motor Show Germany#2007, Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007, with introductions in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australasia, and Africa. EcoBoost is a series of Turbocharger, turbocharged, petrol direct injection, direct-injection gasoline engines produced by Ford Motor Company, Ford and originally co-developed by FEV Inc. (now FEV North America Inc.). Duratorq
The Ford Duratorq engine, commonly referred to as Duratorq, is the marketing name of a range of Ford diesel engines introduced in 2000. The larger capacity 5-cylinder units use the Power Stroke branding when installed in North American-market vehicles. The first design, codenamed "Puma" during its development, replaced the older Endura-D unit which had been around since 1984. Commercial versions of the Puma unit replaced Ford's older "2.5Di" type unit used in the Transit, and many other manufacturers' vehicles - most notably the London Taxi and in the Land Rover Defender. Zetec
Ford Motor Company used the Zetec name on a variety of inline four-cylinder automobile engines. It was coined to replace "Zeta" on a range of 1.6 L to 2.0 L multi-valve engines introduced in 1991 because Ford was threatened with legal action by Lancia who owned the Zeta trademark. The company used the name widely in European advertising and later introduced it to the North American market with the Contour. The Zetec name was so widely recognized that Ford decided to apply it to other high-tech four-cylinder engines. It was used across many engine types in Europe even though the original Zeta design ended production in 2004. Ford also used the "Zetec" name for a trim level designation in certain markets. The Cyclone engine, also branded Duratec, is Ford Motor Company's latest Double overhead camshaft, DOHC family of gasoline V6 engines introduced in 2006. Ford Sigma Engine
The Ford Sigma is a small straight four automobile engine introduced in 1995 by Ford Motor Company. Its first evolution was sold as the Zetec-S (not to be confused with the trim level), then Zetec-SE and finally, in later years, renamed Duratec. The last upgrade of the engine is named Duratec Ti-VCT. Conceived for Ford's smaller models, the motor was intended to replace the older HCS (a derivative of the even older Kent unit) and smaller capacity CVH units. Ford Zeta Engine
Developed in the late 1980s by the Ford Motor Company, the Ford Zeta engine was a straight four, double overhead cam internal combustion engine intended to replace the Pinto and CVH models. The Zeta shared some parts with other Ford engines developed at the time, including the smaller ''Sigma'' I4 and larger '' Duratec'' V6. The engine shares its bore and stroke dimensions with the 2-valve CVH engine. Ford Power Products sells the Zeta in 1.8 L and 2.0 L versions as the MVH. The Ford Mondeo is a Mid-size/large family car, large (D-segment) car manufactured and marketed by Ford Motor Company, Ford since 1993 across five generations for model years 1993-2022.
