Ford's Filling Station' was a gastropub originally opened in 2006 in Culver City, California. In a 2008 LAist interview, Ford's Filling Station owner and head chef Ben Ford, oldest son of actor Harrison Ford, spoke of what drew him to the gastropub's Culver City location, saying Culver City "had the studio, the cool hotel, this great city hall, they had developed the streets and it looked nice. I knew a movie theater was going in, I knew Kirk Douglas Theatre was going in, and so in that way, I wasn’t worried about the neighborhood." In 2012, Ford's Filling Station won the Cochon 555 culinary competition. In 2014, Ford announced that every third Wednesday of the month, the bars and restaurants of downtown Culver City held a "neighborhood-wide Happy Hour." Ben Ford is an American celebrity chef, restaurateur and the oldest son of actor Harrison Ford. Ben Ford's mother, illustator Mary Marquardt, was Harrison Ford's first wife. The ''Daily Breeze'' is a 57,000-circulation daily newspaper published in Hermosa Beach, California, United States. It serves the South Bay cities of Los Angeles County. This is a way for bars and restaurants to draw in more business before or after peak business hours. Kirk Douglas Theatre
The Kirk Douglas Theatre is a 317-seat theater located in Culver City, California, United States. Since 2004, it has been operated by the Center Theatre Group. History Built in 1946, as a Streamline Moderne movie palace with a seating capacity of 1,160 (on a stadium plan with no overhanging balcony), the Culver Theatre (as it was previously named) was located near the Columbia Pictures studio lot (then the lot for MGM). It opened on Wednesday August 13, 1947. Originally, much like surrounding downtown Culver City, the Culver was a key part of classic Hollywood's thriving entertainment community.
