Forager (comics)
Forager is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Publication history The original Forager first appeared in ''New Gods'' #9 (August 1972) and was created by Jack Kirby. A female version of the character debuted in ''New Gods'' (Volume 3) #2 (March 1989). Fictional character biography Original Forager Evolving from the "micro-life" spread on New Genesis during their war with Apokolips, Forager's people are a society of humanoid bugs that thrive in colonies beneath the surface of the planet. These colonies are ruled by beings known as the Queen-Widow and Prime-One. Considered to be below the New Gods of the floating city, Supertown (both literally and figuratively), the bugs form a lower class on New Genesis and are sometimes the target of prejudice by the gods. Jack Kirby
Jack Kirby (born Jacob Kurtzberg; August 28, 1917 – February 6, 1994) was an American comics artist, comic book artist, writer and editor, widely regarded as one of the medium's major innovators and one of its most prolific and influential creators. He grew up in New York City and learned to draw cartoon figures by tracing characters from comic strips and editorial cartoons. He entered the nascent comics industry in the 1930s, drawing various comics features under different pen names, including Jack Curtiss, before ultimately settling on Jack Kirby. In 1940, he and writer-editor Joe Simon created the highly successful superhero character Captain America for Timely Comics, predecessor of Marvel Comics. Countdown (DC Comics)
''Countdown'', also known as ''Countdown to Final Crisis'' for its last 24 issues based on the cover, was a comic book limited series published by DC Comics. It debuted on May 9, 2007, directly following the conclusion of the last issue of '' 52''. The series is written primarily by Paul Dini, along with a rotating team of writers and artists. ''Countdown'' consists of 51 issues, numbered in reverse and published weekly for one year. The series covers much of the fictional DC Universe, told in parallel narratives, through the interconnecting stories of a cast of characters. It frequently crosses over with other DC titles. Unlike the ''52'' limited series of the previous year, ''Countdown'' is not depicted as taking place in " real time" but presumably operates on the same floating timeline as DC Comics stories in general. Jason Spisak () is an American voice actor, producer, and computer programmer in animation and video games, and producer and founding member of Blackchalk Productions. ''Young Justice'' is an American superhero animated television series developed by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman for Cartoon Network and Distributed By Warner Bros. Domestic Television. Despite its title, it is not a direct adaptation of Peter David, Todd Dezago and Todd Nauck's ''Young Justice'' comic series, but rather an original story set in the DC Universe with a focus on teenage and young adult superheroes. The series follows the lives of teenage superheroes and sidekicks, namely Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Red Arrow, Miss Martian, and Artemis, who are members of a fictional covert operation group.
