For A While (album)
''For A While'' is the sixth studio album by Chicago based alt-country band Dolly Varden and their first album since the 2007 '' The Panic Bell'' release. The official release date for the album was January 21, 2013 but pre-release copies were made available as early as October 2012. Steve Dawson took over all the song writing duties for this album and the songs have been described as some of his most accessible, autobiographical and cohesive. Dawson himself described the album as the "most contented thematically", citing agitation and frustration in some of the previous Dolly Varden albums, and as having themes of "mortality, retrospection and gratitude." Dolly Varden (band)
Dolly Varden is a Chicago band built around the singing and songwriting of husband and wife duo Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen. Their music combines elements of folk, rock and pop and country. The band has released 5 albums, along with several collections and side projects. Early Days Christiansen and Dawson first came to prominence in Chicago with a twang-punk band, Stump the Host. The two founded Dolly Varden in 1993 when Stump The Host disbanded. They originally started as a quartet comprising Dawson, Christiansen, Lisa Wertman Crowe (bass) and Matt Thobe (drums). This lineup recorded a 4-song cassette EP with Brad Wood at Idful Music Corporation in Chicago. After a few months Mark Balletto was added as an additional guitarist. This lineup recorded 3 more songs with Brian Deck and released them along with the Idful recordings as "Pet Me", a 6-song cassette. The Panic Bell
''The Panic Bell'' is the fifth studio album by Chicago based alt-country band Dolly Varden. Released in February 2007 it was their first album since '' Forgiven Now'' in 2002. The album was recorded over a period of about a year after the band had taken a long hiatus from playing together. It includes songs influenced by the continuing violence in Iraq and the prisoner abuse scandals at Abu Ghraib, which led to some of the band's rawest recordings. WXRT (93.1 FM), also known as XRT and 93-XRT is an adult album alternative (AAA) radio station in Chicago, Illinois. For many years, their slogan has been "Chicago's Finest Rock". "Chicago's Home For Music Lovers" has been used as its slogan since fall 2017. The station broadcasts from a transmitter atop John Hancock Center and its studios are located at Two Prudential Plaza near Chicago's Millennium Park. WXRT broadcasts in the HD Radio format. Programming WXRT plays a very broad range of music in a format known as AAA/Triple-A (Adult Album Alternative). The Lumineers
The Lumineers are an American alternative folk band based in Denver, Colorado. The founding members are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). Schultz and Fraites began writing and performing together in Ramsey, New Jersey, in 2005. Cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek joined the band in 2010, and was a member until 2018. The Lumineers emerged as one of the most popular folk-rock/ Americana artists during the revival of those genres, their popularity growing in the 2010s. The band's stripped back raw sound draws heavily from artists that influenced Schultz and Fraites such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. The Head and the Heart is an American indie folk band. They were formed in the summer of 2009 by Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar, percussion).
