The sport of football (soccer), football in the country of Guyana is run by the Guyana Football Federation. Football is the second most popular sport of Guyana, after cricket. The association administers the Guyana national football team, national football team, as well as the Guyana National Football League, national football league. However, the Guyana National Team has not played a game since November 2012 due to on-going off-field disputes. Despite Guyana being located in South America, the GFF is a member of the CONCACAF, Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football. The Guyana Amazon Warriors is a cricket team of the Caribbean Premier League based in Providence, Georgetown, Guyana. Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Super League was the top division in Guyana. It was replaced by the GFF Elite League beginning with the 2015–16 GFF Elite League, 2015–16 season. The league used regional qualifying tournaments to determine participants.
