Following
''Following'' is a 1998 British independent neo-noir crime thriller film written, produced, directed, photographed, and edited by Christopher Nolan in his feature film directorial debut. It tells the story of a young man who follows strangers around the streets of London and is drawn into a criminal underworld when he fails to keep his distance. The film was designed to be as inexpensive as possible to make. Scenes were heavily rehearsed so just one or two takes were needed to economise on 16mm film stock, the production's greatest expense, and for which Nolan was paying from his salary. Unable to afford expensive professional lighting equipment, Nolan mostly used available light. Along with writing, directing, and photographing the film, Nolan helped in editing and production. The film was released by The Criterion Collection on both Blu-ray and DVD in North America on 11 December 2012. Plot A struggling, unemployed young writer (credited as "The Young Man") takes to fol ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Cult Following
A cult following is a group of fans who are highly dedicated to a person, idea, object, movement, or work, often an artist, in particular a performing artist, or an artwork in some medium. The latter is often called a cult classic. A film, book, musical artist, television series, or video game, among other things, is said to have a cult following when it has a very passionate fanbase. A common component of cult followings is the emotional attachment the fans have to the object of the cult following, often identifying themselves and other fans as members of a community. Cult followings are also commonly associated with niche markets. Cult media are often associated with underground culture, and are considered too eccentric or anti-establishment to be appreciated by the general public or to be widely commercially successful. Many cult fans express their devotion with a level of irony when describing such entertainment. Fans may become involved in a subculture of fandom, eith ... Following (solitaire)
Following is a patience or card solitaire that uses a single pack of playing cards. It is so called because a player has to follow a rotation of suits. It was first described in 1892 in ''Games of Patience'' by Mary Whitmore Jones and has since appeared in other books and software. Rules At the onset, one has to lay six cards in a row; this will compose the tableau. The object is to remove the aces and build them up to kings. The catch of this game is the rotation of suits that the player must remember: A Club must be placed over a Heart, a Diamond over a Club, a Spade on a Diamond, and a Heart on a Spade. This rule applies to both the foundations and the tableau. Building on the tableau is down, provided that the rotation of suits described above is followed. An entire sequence in any length can be moved, again retaining the rotation of suits. When the cards in the tableau are not sufficient for building, the stock is dealt one card at a time onto a wastepile. The top card ... Following (song)
"Following" is a song by American pop rock band the Bangles, released in 1987 as the fifth and final single from their second studio album, '' Different Light'' (1986). The acoustic ballad carries vocals by Michael Steele, who composed the song. Background and style "Following" is one of two songs on '' Different Light'' on which Michael Steele sang lead vocals, the other one being a cover of Big Star's "September Gurls". The song was written solely by Steele, her first original composition released with the Bangles. Musically, "Following" is radically different from the rest of Bangles' material, being a folky acoustic ballad featuring minimal instrumentation. Its lead instrument is an acoustic guitar. "Following" also features hovering, atmospheric keyboard sounds. The musical input from the other three Bangles members on the song appears to be limited to occasional wordless, atmospheric backing vocal textures. Lyrically, the song deals with the subject of jealousy, paranoia ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Turpsycore
''Turpsycore'' is a 2015 album by Scottish musician Momus (musician), Momus. It was released on 3 March 2015 by independent record label American Patchwork on Compact disc, CD and distributed by Darla Records. Background ''Turpsycore'' is a triple album dedicated to music's "so-called 'eccentrics'." Two out of three of discs are cover versions of David Bowie and ''Magazine (band), Magazine''/''Buzzcocks, the Buzzcocks'' Howard Devoto. The song "Ultra-Loyal Sheepdog" began as a Tumblr post in March 2014 when the musician wrote a biography on one of the characters in Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's "Mottai Night Land" video. The title is a deliberate misspelling of Terpsichore, the muse for joy and dance in Greek mythology. Likewise, the name is a nod to turpentine and wikt:turpitude, turpitude. Also relating to Greek mythology, Momus is the god of mockery and blame. The color palette is a reference to Greece's polychrome technique. His later album ''Glyptothek (Momus album), Glyptothek'' ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Friending And Following
Friending is the act of adding someone to a list of "friends" on a social networking service. The notion does not necessarily involve the concept of friendship. It is also distinct from the idea of a " fan"—as employed on the WWW sites of businesses, bands, artists, and others—since it is more than a one-way relationship. A "fan" only receives things. A "friend" can communicate back to the person friending. The act of "friending" someone usually grants that person special privileges (on the service) with respect to oneself. On Facebook, for example, one's "friends" have the privilege of viewing and posting to one's "timeline". Following is a similar concept on other social network services, such as Twitter and Instagram, where a person (''follower'') chooses to add content from a person or page to their newsfeed. Unlike friending, following is not necessarily mutual, and a person can ''unfollow'' (stop following) or block another user at any time without affecting that ...
