Anal Cunt
Anal Cunt, also called AxCx and A.C., was an American grindcore band that formed in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1988. From its inception, the band underwent a number of line-up changes and never had a bassist. The band, known for its flippant and noisy musical style as well as controversial lyrics, released eight full-length studio albums in addition to Anal Cunt discography, a number of compilations and extended plays. Anal Cunt disbanded in 2011 after the group's founder and frontman, Seth Putnam, died of a suspected heart attack. The band is often referred to by their initials A.C. (often written as AxCx) due to the offensive nature of their name and censorship limits on some radio and publications, and many of their album covers simply display the initials A.C. However, the band managed to subvert even this abbreviation by drawing these letters in a manner resembling an anus and a vulva, which can be seen on many of their albums. The group's early material contained no pre-wri ...

Top 40 Hits
''Top 40 Hits'' is the second full-length album by Anal Cunt, released in 1995 on CD and cassette by Earache Records. The cover of this album is a parody of the compilation albums released in the 1970s by TV advertising company K-Tel. The album was recorded in 1994 as part of the band's attempt to move from playing noisecore to playing fast hardcore songs, although the album contains both styles. There are also numerous cover songs on the album including those of Rupert Holmes's " Escape (The Pina Colada Song)", The Guess Who's "American Woman", Elton John's " I'm Still Standing", ''The A-Team'' theme song, and a cover of the Bee Gees song "Stayin' Alive". Their "Oi! version" of this song was also released as a promotional single before the album was released. Additionally, the song "Lenny's in My Neighborhood" parodies the Body Count song " There Goes the Neighborhood" both lyrically and musically. Seth Putnam said on his old website that he never got the sound he wanted with t ...

Patareni
Patareni are a hardcore punk, noise, and grindcore band from Zagreb, Croatia, formed in 1983. Owing to their formation at such an early date, they are considered to be one of the earliest grindcore bands. Their discography is extensive, consisting of many CDs, LPs, and split singles with bands such as Extreme Noise Terror, Agathocles and Cripple Bastards. Through these releases they gained a reputation as a cult band and many bands have cited Patareni as being one of their primary influences, which prompted the release of ''A Tribute to the Patareni'' by Roots Records and F'K'O" in 1994. In 2009, '' Terrorizer'' listed Patareni's ''Back to the Roots'' as one of its top 20 essential European grindcore albums. James Hoare, writing for ''Terrorizer'', said, "Much beloved by Anal Cunt's Seth Putnam, who felt moved enough to write to them back in the day, Croatia's Patareni were the band for whom the word 'raw' was coined. Hugely influential, some grindcore historians even argue they w ...

12-inch Single
The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a "single" or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. It is named for its diameter that was intended for LPs. This technical adaptation allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the mastering engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality. This record type, which is claimed to have been accidentally discovered by Tom Moulton, is commonly used in disco and dance music genres, where DJs use them to play in clubs. They are played at either or 45 . The conventional 7-inch single usually holds three or four minutes of music at full volume. The 12-inch LP sacrifices volume for extended playing time. Technical features Twelve-inch singles typically have much shorter playing time than full ...

Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English) or a vinyl record (for later varieties only) is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the outside edge and ends near the center of the disc. The stored sound information is made audible by playing the record on a phonograph (or "gramophone", "turntable", or "record player"). Records have been produced in different formats with playing times ranging from a few minutes to around 30 minutes per side. For about half a century, the discs were commonly made from shellac and these records typically ran at a rotational speed of 78 rpm, giving it the nickname "78s" ("seventy-eights"). After the 1940s, "vinyl" records made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) became standard replacing the old 78s and remain so to this day; they have since been produced in various sizes and speeds, most commonly 7-inch discs pla ...

It Just Gets Worse
''It Just Gets Worse'' is the sixth album by the grindcore band Anal Cunt, released on November 9, 1999, on Earache Records. Recording information The album was recorded between August 1998 and August 1999 (except tracks 38 and 39 which were recorded and mixed in August 1997), although the majority of it was recorded after the band's 1998 tour in Japan. The guitar and drums were recorded on a 4-track at Anal Cunt's practice space and the vocals were recorded on a PA in the studio, where vocalist Seth Putnam mixed it. The album was then released after their 1999 European tour with the band Flächenbrand and was the last of the band's albums released under the Earache label which they got dropped from in May 2000. "Your Kid Committed Suicide Because You Suck" was originally titled " Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks". "Chris Barnes Is a Pussy" was based on an alleged incident that involved Putnam being attacked by Six Feet Under's roadies, while their voc ...

Picnic Of Love
''Picnic of Love'' is the fifth album by Anal Cunt. It was released on July 21, 1998. The album was released as a joke and a parody of love songs, as well as of the band itself. The album is characterized by the opposite of everything that the band represents. While the normal Anal Cunt album consists of 40 to 50 tracks, mainly under a minute in length, ''Picnic of Love'' contains only eleven comparatively long tracks. The downtuned distorted guitars, rapid drumming and screeched vocals of other Anal Cunt albums is replaced by soft acoustic guitar and vocalist Seth Putnam singing in gentle falsetto. The most apparent change is the lyrical content: all of the songs are about inoffensive, sweet subjects as opposed to the band's more typical deliberately offensive or provocative lyrics. Content observation Allmusic's review of the album erroneously claims that ''Picnic of Love'' "is a collection of ballads that never ceases to have a tragic and violent ending by the end of each song ...
