Florida Acoustic (Sofia Talvik Album)
Sofia Talvik (born 24 November 1978 in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland County) is a Swedish musician and singer-songwriter. Her music can be described as Folk and Americana with Nordic influences. She plays the guitar and piano. Her album productions also include musicians who play other acoustic instruments, including violins, cellos, accordion and mandolin. Career Talvik released her debut album, ''Blue Moon (Sofia Talvik album), Blue Moon'', in 2005. It was recorded and produced entirely by Talvik herself, taking just 40 hours to record. Her second album, ''Street of Dreams (Sofia Talvik album), Street of Dreams'', was released in 2007, and features Bernard Butler, guitarist in former British band Suede (band), Suede on the track "It's Just Love", the first single to be released from the album. Lollapalooza () is an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park (Chicago), Grant Park in Chicago. Jimmy Layne Webb (born August 15, 1946) is an American songwriter, composer, and singer. He achieved success at an early age, winning the Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the age of 21. During his career, he established himself as one of America's most successful and honored songwriter/composers. "Wichita Lineman" is a 1968 song written by Jimmy Webb for American country music artist Glen Campbell, who recorded it backed by members of the Wrecking Crew. Widely covered by other artists, it has been called "the first existential country song". Background and content Webb wrote "Wichita Lineman" in response to Campbell's urgent phone request for a "place"-based or "geographical" song to follow up " By the Time I Get to Phoenix". His lyrical inspiration came while driving through the high plains of the Oklahoma panhandle past a long line of telephone poles, on one of which perched a lineman speaking into his handset. Daytrotter
Daytrotter was a recording studio, music venue and subscription-based music discovery website located in Atlanta, United States. It hosted recording sessions with indie music acts. The original studio in Rock Island, Illinois, was founded in 2006 by Sean Moeller. It later moved to Davenport, Iowa and in 2019 moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The sessions can be compared to that of a radio station's lounge recordings, where musicians passing through the town can record live in the studio. Given their tendency to offer an eclectic sampling of music as well as their production style the sessions have been compared to that of the Peel Sessions. Currently, the Daytrotter website is owned by Paste, and redirects to the magazine's website.
