Flor Ángel Colón (born ) is a retired Dominican Republic female volleyball player. She was part of the Dominican Republic women's national volleyball team at the 1998 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. Career Colón played the 1998-99 season of the Spanish top professional league, the Superliga Femenina de Voleibol The Superliga Femenina de Voleibol (SFM) is the top level of women's volleyball in Spain. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. The 1998 FIVB Women's World Championship was the thirteenth edition of the tournament, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB. The Superliga Femenina de Voleibol (SFM) is the top level of women's volleyball in Spain. The championship was founded in 1989. The administration of the league is carried out by the ''Real Federación Española de Voleibol''. Formerly known as 1ª División de la Liga Nacional Femenina de Voleibol, and, since 1989 as the current name. Competition format 9 teams played in a two-round format. Upon completion of regular season, the top four teams play Championship's playoffs, while the bottom team is relegated to Superliga 2. CV Torrelavega
Club Voleibol Torrelavega, also known as CV Cantabria Deporte for sponsorship reasons, is a Spanish women's volleyball club from Torrelavega currently playing in the Superliga 2 Femenina de Voleibol, Spanish second tier. Founded in 1966 in the city's Marqués de Santillana high school, it made its debut in the Superliga Femenina de Voleibol, premier national championship in 1975 and in the next years it rose to the top positions; it was the championship's runner-up in 1977 and 1978, and in 1979 it won both the championship and the Copa de la Reina de Voleibol, national cup, which was successfully defended the following year. It was the first team to represent Spain in the CEV Women's Champions League, European Cup. Torrelavega declined through the 1980s, but it remained in the premier championship until in 1999 it had to ask to be relegated for financial reasons.
