''Flame On'' is an album by Trinidadian soca artist Machel Montano, released in 2008. It was first launched at Trinidad's Club Zen on 16 January 2008. The album marked Montano's second release after rebranding to Machel Montano HD in 2007. A release for the North American market had come out on June 11, 2008 under a different album name, ''Wining Season''. The album features several solo and collaborative tracks, with popular artists such as: Cuban-American Pitbull, American Lil Jon, Jamaicans Shaggy and Buju Banton, Trinidadians Patrice Roberts, The Mighty Sparrow and David Rudder. Clifford Smith (born 29 December 1974), better known as Mr. Vegas, is a Jamaican dancehall musician. The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is an annual event held on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday in Trinidad and Tobago. This event is well known for participants' colorful costumes and exuberant celebrations. There are numerous cultural events such as "band launch" fetes running in the lead up to the street parade on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Road March
The Carnival Road March is the musical composition played most often at the "judging points" along the parade route during a Caribbean Carnival. Originating as part of the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, the term has been applied to other Caribbean carnivals. There it was and is still viewed as a musical genre. In Trinidad and Tobago the Road March title has been officially given out every year since 1932 (with the exception of the years affected by World War II when Carnival did not officially take place). Popular Unofficial Road Marches have also been recognized in T&T from since 1834 after slavery was abolished. The Honourable David Michael Rudder OCC (born 6 May 1953) is a Trinidadian calypsonian, known to be one of the most successful calypsonians of all time. He performed as lead singer for the brass band Charlie's Roots. Patrice Roberts (born 11 April 1986) is a Trinidadian soca singer. She is also a second cousin of singer Bunji Garlin. She came to national attention in 2005 with the hit collaboration "The Islands" alongside cousin Bunji Garlin, written by Kernal Roberts and produced by Shawn Noel (Da Mastermind), which was used in promotional commercials by the Ministry of Tourism.
