Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev (born 17 May 1953) is a Kazakhstani politician and diplomat who has served as the second president of Kazakhstan since 2019. He previously served as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Prime Minister from 1999 to 2002 and as Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Senate from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2019. Tokayev also held the position of United Nations Office at Geneva, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva from 2011 to 2013. The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan () is a national political body in Kazakhstan consisting of delegates of the Regional Assemblies of the People. The Akorda Residence (, ''Aqorda rezidentsiyasy'', ) is the official workplace of the president of Kazakhstan, located in the capital city of Astana. The Palace was built within three years, and officially opened in 2004. It was built by the Mabetex Group, founded by Behgjet Pacolli, 3rd President of Kosovo and 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo. Situated on the left bank of the Ishim (Esil) River, it is the president’s place of work and houses the staff of the Presidential Administration; it is not the president’s place of residence.
