A temporary Lebanese government was formed on 19 April 2005, after 50 days of the resignation of Omar Karami government. 2005 Lebanese General Election
General elections were held in Lebanon in May and June 2005 to elect the 128 members of the Parliament of Lebanon. They were the second elections in thirty years without a Syrian military or intelligence presence in Lebanon. The Prime Minister of Lebanon, officially the President of the Council of Ministers, is the head of government and the head of the Council of Ministers of Lebanon.
