''Fires in Heaven'' is the second studio album by American witch house band Salem. It was released on October 30, 2020 via Mad Decent's Decent Distribution. It was preceded by the lead single "Starfall", which was released on September 18, 2020 along its music video. It follows the band's trip with veteran storm trackers through Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dallas as well as through Texas during tornado season Tornadoes have been recorded on all continents except Antarctica. Salem (American Band)
Salem (sometimes stylized as S4LEM or SALEM) is an American electronic music band from Traverse City, Michigan. It was founded by Heather Marlatt, Jack Donoghue and John Holland. Salem is considered one of the pioneers of the witch house genre. Salem released its debut album ''King Night'' in 2010. In 2020, the group released a mixtape, ''Stay Down'', followed by their second album, ''Fires in Heaven'', both without Marlatt, who is disputing her ouster. Career Salem was formed in 2008 by Jack Donoghue, John Holland, and Heather Marlatt. Salem released the debut studio album, ''King Night'', in 2010. Witch House (music Genre)
Witch house is a microgenre of electronic music characterized by dark occult themes and visual aesthetics that emerged in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The style is heavily influenced by chopped and screwed hip hop, as well as industrial music, ethereal wave and dream pop. Witch house incorporates synths, drum machines, obscure samples, droning repetition, and vocals that are heavily altered, ethereal, and/or indiscernible. Mad Decent is an American record label founded by Diplo. The label has helped introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world. Recently, it has popularized moombahton, a genre of electronic dance music created by DJ Dave Nada. The genre on the label was mostly popularized by Dillon Francis after collaborating with Diplo on Francis's 2012 track "Que Que".
