Filthy Rich (1982 TV Series)
''Filthy Rich'' is an American sitcom television series that aired on CBS from August 1982 to June 1983. Starring Dixie Carter and Charles Frank, the series satirized prime-time soap operas such as ''Dallas (TV series), Dallas'' and ''Dynasty (1981 TV series), Dynasty''. Premise The series was set in Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis at a fictional mansion called Toad Hall, which was owned by one Big Guy Beck (Slim Pickens in the pilot, and Forrest Tucker afterwards), a very wealthy land baron. He had recently died of an undisclosed illness, and before he was cryonically frozen he had made out a videotaped will, a piece of which was played every week by his lawyer, George Wilhoit (David Healy (actor), David Healy and Vernon Weddle). "Happy Trails" is a song by Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans, known as the theme song for both ''The Roy Rogers Show'' on radio and ''The Roy Rogers Show'' on television, in which they starred. It was written by Evans and always sung by the duo over the end credits of those programs. Dale wrote this song in 1951 during the life of Robin, Roy and Dale's only child together who was born with Downs Syndrome. Dale decided Roy needed a new song for the closing of their Roy Rogers Radio Show, At the time Roy was using the song "Smiles are made out of Sunshine." "Happy Trails" was released in 1952 as a 78 RPM and 45 RPM by Rogers and Evans with the Whippoorwills and Orchestra, on RCA Victor Records. Vernon Weddle
Vernon Weddle Jr. (born August 23, 1935) is an American film, stage and television actor. He is perhaps best known for playing General Washburne in the 1986 film ''Short Circuit''. Early life and education Weddle was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the son of Vernon Sr. and Grace. When he was thirteen years old, Weddle and his family moved to Texas in 1958, where he has attended at Lon Morris College and the University of Texas at Austin. He then attended at Stephens College, where he was a resident actor and instructor for theatre arts. Career Weddle began his career with a stage play, with his wife, Gerri.
