The Filmfare East Best Female Playback Singer Award is given by Indian film magazine ''Filmfare'' as a part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Bengali films, to recognise a female playback singer who has delivered an outstanding performance in a film song. Superlatives Anwesha Datta Gupta was the first holder of this award back in 2014 for the song "Saradin Aar Sara Raat" from '' Rupkotha Noy''. Iman Chakraborty won the award on the second edition in 2017. Shreya Ghoshal holds the record for most nominations (5), Oldest nominee. Filmfare Awards Bangla is the Bengali segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by The Times Group to honour the artistic and cinematic excellence in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali. The first installment of the awards were held for Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali, Cinema of Assam, Assamese and Cinema of Odisha, Odia films in a ceremony on 29 March 2007. The award ceremony was discontinued for Two Times respectively 2013, 2015 and 2016, then again continued from 2017 and now only given to Bengali Film Industry. Sharmin Sultana Sumi (better known as Sumi) is a Bangladeshi singer, songwriter, composer, playback singer. She is a lead vocalist and founding member of the band Chirkutt. She started the band in 2002. Sumi becomes first-ever Bangladeshi to participate in Womex 21.
