Figure skating at the 1994 Goodwill Games took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia at the Yubileyny Sports Palace. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The event, held in August 1994, was delayed by a day after a heat wave, a power outage and lack of air conditioning resulted in the ice not being ready. Oleg Stanislavovich Tataurov (russian: Олег Станиславович Татауров; born 23 August 1972) is a Russian figure skating coach and former competitor who represented the Soviet Union and Russia. He won silver and bronze medals at the Grand Prix International St. Gervais and represented Russia at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he placed 11th. Personal life Tataurov was born on 23 August 1972 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. Career Tataurov began skating in 1978. He was coached by Alexei Mishin in Saint Petersburg. Evgenia Vasilievna Shishkova (russian: Евгения Васильевна Шишкова; born 18 December 1972) is a Russian figure skating coach and former competitor. With her husband Vadim Naumov, she is the 1994 World champion and the 1995–96 Champions Series Final champion. Career Shishkova/Naumov were introduced in 1985 by Naumov's coach who wanted them to skate together. Naumov initially rebuffed the idea because he did not wish to change partners, however, following a number of tryouts, he and Shishkova agreed to team up. They began competing together in 1987. Elaine Zayak
Elaine Kathryn Zayak (born April 4, 1965) is an American former figure skater. She is the 1982 World champion and 1981 U.S. national champion. She competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics, placing 6th. Personal life Zayak was born and raised in Paramus, New Jersey. At age two, she lost three toes on her left foot as a result of a lawn mower accident. On the advice of her doctors, she began figure skating as physical therapy. Her left boot was stabilized with a wood mold to compensate for the irregularity in the shape of her left foot. Zayak attended Paramus High School and was awarded the Dial Award for the national high-school scholar-athlete of the year in 1982. Nicole Bobek (born August 23, 1977) is a retired American figure skater. She is the 1995 U.S. national champion and 1995 World bronze medalist. She also competed at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
