Fight To Survive
''Fight to Survive'' is the debut studio album by the American-Danish glam metal band White Lion, released in late 1985 by Victor Records in Japan, and in June 1986 by Grand Slamm Records in the US. The album charted at No. 151 on the ''Billboard'' 200 in 1988, after the success of their second album, ''Pride''. Background The band was signed to Elektra Records, which shelved the album with no intention of publishing it in the USA. Philadelphia-based Grand Slamm Records bought the album from Elektra and released it in America the following year. Tramp has noted that once White Lion was dropped by Elektra Records, their manager managed to get the right to license the album and release it in Japan. The album actually broke in Europe before it did in the USA thanks to magazines covering the band. White Lion
White Lion is an American glam metal band that was formed in New York City in 1983 by Danish vocalist Mike Tramp and American guitarist Vito Bratta. Mainly active in the 1980s and early 1990s, they released their debut album ''Fight to Survive'' in 1985. The band achieved success with their No. 8 hit Wait (White Lion song), "Wait" and No. 3 hit "When the Children Cry" from their second album, the double platinum selling ''Pride (White Lion album), Pride''. Angel is an American rock band from Washington, D.C., formed in the mid-1970s by Punky Meadows, Mickey Jones, and Gregg Giuffria. They were primarily known for their flamboyant glam stage presence and white satin outfits. History Angel was discovered by Kiss bass player Gene Simmons performing at a nightclub and was eventually signed to the same label as Kiss, Casablanca. Angel's image of dressing in all white was a deliberate contrast to Kiss, who wore black. Angel sported an androgynous image and elaborate stage sets. Frank Zappa wrote a satirical song about Punky Meadows, with Punky's approval titled "Punky's Whips". Angel never achieved mass commercial success but acquired a following as a cult band. Vito Bratta
Vito Bratta (born July 1, 1961) is an American guitarist and the former co-songwriter for the glam metal band White Lion. He co-founded White Lion with lead singer Mike Tramp in 1983 and played with the band until 1991. Bio Bratta began playing guitar at the age of 13 and later became a member of a cover band from New Jersey called Dreamer. In 1982, he was a frontrunner to replace Bernie Tormé in Ozzy Osbourne's band but clashed with manager Sharon Osbourne and lost out to Brad Gillis. He was then asked to replace Ace Frehley in Kiss but declined after being asked to change his name. In 1983 he formed White Lion together with Mike Tramp where he was a member until the band's breakup in 1991. During the band's heyday he often played on a Steinberger and ESP's guitars. Michael Trempenau (born 14 January 1961), better known as Mike Tramp, is a Danish singer songwriter and musician best known for his work with the glam metal band White Lion. In 1996, Mike Tramp launched his solo career, interrupted from 2004 to 2009 when he briefly reformed White Lion. Since then, he has regularly released solo albums and toured extensively. Since 2023, Mike Tramp has released "Songs of White Lion" albums and toured as Mike Tramp's White Lion with guitarist Marcus Nand and band. Danish solo albums have also been released since 2022. ''Mane Attraction'' is the fourth studio album by the glam metal band White Lion. It was released in 1991 by Atlantic Records, and reached No. 61 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 31 in the UK. Overview After a year of writing and recording, White Lion released ''Mane Attraction'' in the spring of 1991, which was received well by the fans. Unfortunately, the album failed to reach the top 20 like the last two albums. It received little airplay due to the rising popularity of grunge. The album featured the singles " Love Don't Come Easy" which peaked at number 24 on the Mainstream Rock chart, "Lights and Thunder", an eight-minute heavy rock epic with a complex structure inspired by Led Zeppelin's " Achilles Last Stand" and a re-recorded version of the band's debut single "Broken Heart", all of which had music videos. Greg D'Angelo, (born December 18, 1963) is an American drummer most famous for his work in the bands White Lion, Anthrax, and Pride & Glory.
