Fifty Fifty (Pakistani TV Series)
''Fifty Fifty'' (Urdu script: ففٹی ففٹی) is a popular Pakistan Television Corporation sketch comedy series that was aired on the national television PTV from 1978 to 1984, based loosely on the American comedy show ''Saturday Night Live''. The programme was a sketch comedy considered by many critics to be one of the best television shows to be produced in Pakistan. The content of the show includes satire and parody, with some slapstick comedy. It is widely considered to be a trendsetter in its genre, with its content being ethnically balanced and written to respect all Pakistani communities. Regulars on the show included TV actors Ismail Tara, Zeba Shehnaz, Ashraf Khan,Majid Jahangir, and Khalid Abbas Dar. Sketch Comedy
Sketch comedy comprises a series of short, amusing scenes or vignettes, called "sketches" or, "skits", commonly between one and ten minutes long, performed by a group of comic actors or comedians. While the form developed and became popular in music hall in Britain and vaudeville in North America, today it is used widely in variety shows, as well as in late night talk shows and even some sitcoms. ''Alif Noon'' () is a 1965 comedy television series from Pakistan Television, written by Kamal Ahmed Rizvi. The cast consisted of Rafi Khawar, known as Nanha, and Kamal Ahmed Rizvi known as ''Allan''. Plot Each episode follows 'Allan' as a clever business-minded person, coming up with some immoral tricks to earn fast money. He used to use 'Nanha' as his stooge. He himself was not inclined to work and would rather be the sleeping partner in every saga or tell the tricks to poor Nanha (his front man). The character of Nanha became an instant hit. He faced the new society and was therefore used by Allan as the 'front man' for his tricks. The 1st Indus Drama Awards ceremony, presented by Indus TV Network, sponsored by Dulux, took place on 23 September 2005, at PAF Museum, Karachi. The ceremony was recorded, and was scheduled to be televised in Pakistan and UAE on 1 October 2005, by Indus TV. It was produced by chairman Ghazanfar Ali. Moin Akhter (Urdu: معین اختر), (24 December 1950 – 22 April 2011) was a Pakistani television, film and stage artist, humorist, comedian, impersonator, host, writer, singer, director and producer who rose to fame in the era of Radio Pakistan along with his co-actors Anwar Maqsood and Bushra Ansari.
