Festivus Film Festival
The Festivus Film Festival is a Denver, Colorado-based annual film festival held in November. It features independent films at historical venues in the Denver Highlands, including the Bug Theatre (Denver, Colorado), Bug Theatre and the Oriental Theater (Denver, Colorado), Oriental Theater. The Festivus Film Festival was founded in 2008, suspended operation in 2013 due to budget constraints and relaunched in 2019 after getting support from the Denver art centre and other NGOs. The festival lasts for five days and plays a variety of films including features, short films, animation and music videos. It is the largest independent film festival in Denver. Oriental Theater (Denver, Colorado)
The Oriental Theater, is a historic theater is located in Berkeley neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. Since opening in 1927, the venue has hosted numerous functions both private and public. The venue allows minors and consumers over 21 to function together, rather than having to be separated by their ages. It is currently used as a live music venue and is registered with the National Register of Historic Places. History The Oriental Theater was built in 1927 and originally started off showcasing movie films. In 1960, the owners decided to put in new seats and carpet to attract customers but due to the lack of response the theater had to close. After 45 years of inactivity, it was purchased by Scott Labarbera, in 2005, and turned into a live music venue. Festivus () is a secular holiday celebrated on December 23 as an alternative to the perceived pressures and commercialism of the Christmas season. 100 Monkeys was an independent funk rock band from Los Angeles, California. The members of the group, from 2008 until their disbandment in 2012, were Ben Graupner, Jackson Rathbone, Jerad Anderson, Ben Johnson, and Lawrence Abrams.
