Festival De Las Máscaras (2018)
The Festival de las Máscaras (2018) (Spanish for "Festival of the Masks") was a major annual ''lucha libre'' event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion held on June 17, 2018. The show was held in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, which is IWRG's primary venue. For the 2018 event Máscara Año 2000, Cocco Rojo, Olímpico, Mano Negra, Veneno, Star Boy, El Pantera II, Dr. Cerebro, Cerebro Negro, Oficial 911, Oficial AK-47 and Oficial Fierro, Mega and Omega, El Hijo del Diablo and El Golpeador all wore their masks again after having lost ''Luchas de Apuestas'', or "bet matches", in the past and thus lost the rights to wear their mask. Jesús Reza Rosales (born January 15, 1951) is a Mexican '' Luchador'', or professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Mano Negra. Mano Negra is Spanish for "The Black Hand" and is taken from the Spanish anarchist organisation '' La Mano Negra''. Rosales is a former two time holder of the NWA World Welterweight Championship, two time holder of the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship, and the Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship while working for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL). José Ángel Bocanegra González (born February 7, 1981) is a Mexican ''Lucha libre, luchador'', or masked professional wrestling, professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Oficial 911. As Oficial 911 he is part of a group called ''Los Oficiales'' that has worked for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) since 2007. The team held the record for the longest-reigning Distrito Federal Trios Championship, Distrito Federal Trios Champions and are the most successful holders of the IWRG Intercontinental Trios Championship, holding it longer than any other trios team and having defended it more times than any previous champions have. A wrestling mask is a fabric-based mask that some professional wrestlers wear as part of their in-ring persona or gimmick. Professional wrestlers have been using masks as far back as 1915 and they are still widely used today, especially in Mexican professional wrestling.
