Fereej Bin Mahmoud
Fereej Bin Mahmoud ( ar, فريج بن محمود) is a neighborhood of Doha, Qatar. It is one of the older multipurpose districts, with an active business scene and relatively large housing market. Located in Doha's downtown area, next to the historic district of Mushayrib, the area underwent much development in the 1970s. At 1.8 km2, it is a relatively large district compared to its neighboring districts, and is well-connected to Doha's road system, namely to C Ring Road and Salwa Road. In terms of housing, apartment buildings are the dominant housing type. Etymology Similar to many other districts in downtown Doha, the area is named after its founders. The first word, ''fareej'', translates roughly to ''neighborhood'', while the second constituent was borrowed from the name of the first tribe to settle the area: the Al Mahmoud tribe. Qatar
Qatar (, ; ar, قطر, Qaṭar ; local vernacular pronunciation: ), officially the State of Qatar,) is a country in Western Asia. Municipalities Of Qatar
Since 2015, Qatar has been divided into eight municipalities. In 2004, a new municipality, Al Daayen, was created under Resolution No. 13, formed from parts of Umm Salal and Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah was merged with Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah was merged with Ar Rayyan; Jarayan al Batnah was split between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah; and Mesaieed was merged with Al Wakrah. In 2014, the western city of Al-Shahaniya split off from Al Rayyan Municipality to form its own municipality. Ad-Dawhah ( ar, الدوحة, ' or ''ad-Dōḥa'', ) is the one of the eight municipalities of Qatar. It is the most populous municipality with a population of 956,457, and is the municipality of Qatar's capital city, Doha. Etymology According to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the name "Doha" originated from the Arabic term "dohat", which means "roundness". This name is derived from the rounded bays surrounding the area's coastline. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. For instance, in the 2010 census, Zone 69 was transferred to Al Daayen Municipality, Zones 50 and 58 were added to Ad-Dawhah Municipality, and part of Zone 74 was merged with Zone 70 of Al Daayen Municipality. Doha ( ar, الدوحة, ad-Dawḥa or ''ad-Dōḥa'') is the capital city and main financial hub of Qatar. Mushayrib
Mushayrib ( ar, مشيرب; also spelled Musheireb) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. As of the 2010 census, the former district of Al Asmakh has been integrated into Mushayrib. It is one of the oldest districts of Doha, and contains Al Kahraba Street (also called Electricity Street), the country's first fully lit street. History In J. G. Lorimer's '' Gazetteer of the Persian Gulf'' first published in 1908, Mushayrib was described as a place where the town of Al Bidda obtained its water supply from, but described the water as brackish and scanty. Doha Metro
The Doha Metro is a rapid transit system in Doha, Qatar's capital city, which became operational on 8 May 2019. It has three lines with an approximate overall length of 76 km and 37 stations. It is an integral component of the larger Qatar Rail network, which will include a long-distance rail for passengers and freight, linking Qatar to the GCC, and the Lusail LRT. Gold Line (Doha Metro)
The Gold Line is a rapid transit line of the Doha Metro. The east-west Gold Line runs through Doha, extending from Ras Abu Aboud Station to Al Aziziya Station over a distance of 32 km.
