Ferdinand Porsche (3 September 1875 – 30 January 1951) was a German automotive engineering, automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche, Porsche AG. He is best known for creating the first Petrol engine, gasoline–Electric motor, electric Hybrid electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle (Lohner–Porsche), the Volkswagen Beetle, the Auto Union racing cars, the Mercedes-Benz SSK, Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK, and several other important developments and Porsche automobiles. Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche (19 September 1909 – 27 March 1998), mainly known as Ferry Porsche, was an Austrian-German technical automobile designer and automaker-entrepreneur. He operated Porsche AG in Stuttgart, Germany. His father, Ferdinand Porsche Sr., was also a renowned automobile engineer and founder of both Volkswagen and Porsche. His nephew, Ferdinand Piëch, was the longtime chairman of Volkswagen Group, and his son, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, was involved in the design of the Porsche 911. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (11 December 1935 – 5 April 2012), also known by the nickname "Butzi", was a German-Austrian designer whose best known product was the first Porsche 911. He was the son of Ferry Porsche, and the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche. While his grandfather and father were both engineers, he was more involved in working out the appearance of a product. He never thought of himself as an artist or designer, but more as a technically talented craftsman in shaping.
