Fencing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's Sabre
The women's individual sabre competition in fencing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 1 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. South Korea's Kim Ji-yeon won the gold medal. Thirty-two fencers from 24 countries competed. Competition format The competition was a single-elimination tournament with a bronze medal final for semifinal losers.Competition format

Alexandra Bujdoso
Alexandra Bujdoso (born 5 March 1990 in Budapest, Hungary) is a German-Hungarian sabre fencer. She is coached by her father, Imre Bujdosó, a former world class fencer and Olympic champion. While still in the Cadets category, she won the 2005–06 junior Fencing World Cup. At the same time, she took a bronze medal at the Klagenfurt World Cup and reached the quarter-finals at the 2006 World Championships in Turin. She finished the season 11th in senior world rankings, a career best as of 2014. She won in 2008 a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Acireale. Vassiliki Vougiouka (; born 20 June 1986, in Cholargos, Athens, Greece), often known as Vaso Vougiouka (Βάσω Βουγιούκα), is a Greek female sabre fencer, silver medallist in the 2012 and 2013 European Championships. She participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, in which she was eliminated in the quarter finals, as well as at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Louise Bond-Williams
Louise Bond-Williams (born 14 May 1982) is a former British sabre fencer. She represented Great Britain at the 2004 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Career Bond-Williams took up fencing at Chipping Campden School. She quickly showed promise, winning the West Midlands championships for her age class when she was twelve. She was then coached by David Kirby at Shakespeare's Swords, the fencing club at King Edward VI School, Stratford-upon-Avon. In 1999, first year where women's sabre was allowed at top-level competitions, she earned a silver medal at the Cadet World Championships in Dijon and posted a last-16 finish at the Senior World Championships in Seoul. Sandra Sassine (born September 28, 1979) is a Canadian fencer. She was born in Chibougamau, Quebec. She competed in the individual and team sabre events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. In the women's sabre in 2008, she competed in section 3, beating Elvira Wood in the first round, but was eliminated in the second round by gold medalist Mariel Zagunis. She placed 28th overall. María Belén Pérez Maurice (born 12 July 1985) is an Argentine sabre fencer who was Pan American champion in 2014. She was the only representative of the sport from Argentina at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
