Miss India, also known as Femina Miss India, is a national beauty pageant in India that selects representatives to compete in the Miss World competition, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. It is organized by ''Femina (India), Femina'', a women's magazine published by The Times Group. The current Femina Miss India World is Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh. She was crowned by the previous titleholder, Nandini Gupta, on 16 October 2024 in Mumbai. History The first Miss India was Pramila (Esther Victoria Abraham), Esther Abraham, from Calcutta, who won the title in 1947. The pageant was organized by the local press. Miss Universe 1964 was the 13th Miss Universe pageant, held on at the Miami Beach Convention Hall in Miami Beach, Florida, United States 1 August 1964.
