The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research in Manhasset, New York, United States, on Long Island, is the research home of Northwell Health. Feinstein Institutes is home to 50 research labs, 2,500 clinical research studies, and 5,000 professional and support staff. Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition that arises when the body's response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs. This initial stage of sepsis is followed by suppression of the immune system. Elmezzi Graduate School Of Molecular Medicine
The Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine is a private graduate college in Manhasset, New York, associated with Northwell Health and located at North Shore University Hospital. As of spring 2010, the school had 5 students enrolled. The school was chartered in 1994 but closed due to the closure of its parent institution, the Picower Institute. In 2001, the school was acquired by the North Shore-LIJ Institute for Medical Research and revived as the North Shore LIJ Graduate School of Molecular Medicine and again to the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine in 2008. Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a syndrome in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries and pulmonary arterioles (the blood vessels located proximal to the capillary bed, the site of oxygen exchange in the lungs) is elevated. Jesse Roth
Jesse Roth (born August 5, 1934) is an American physician and endocrinologist, currently at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. He received his BA in 1955 from Columbia University, his MD in 1959 from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis) in 1961, and a fellowship in endocrinology at Bronx Veterans Administration Medical Center in 1963. Beginning with his fellowship work with Solomon Berson and Rosalyn Yalow, Jesse Roth's research career focused on insulin action.
