Movements (band)
Movements are a post-hardcore band from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, formed in 2015. The band was signed to a record contract with Fearless Records after playing just one show in 2015. They have released an EP, '' Outgrown Things'' (2016), and two albums, '' Feel Something'' (2017) and ''No Good Left to Give'' (2020). ''Feel Something'' peaked at 190 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. History Influenced by bands such as Title Fight, Oceana, Thrice and Balance and Composure, Guitarist Brett Chiodo and Vocalist Patrick Miranda got together to finally create a band after jamming together casually for years. Movements was formed in January 2015 by guitarist Brett Chiodo and Patrick Miranda. Brett Chiodo recruited drummer Spencer York, and Patrick Miranda, having been in a band together before, recruited bassist Austin Cressey. KRUI-FM (89.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Variety format. Located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States, the station is licensed to Student Broadcasters Inc. KRUI began at the University of Iowa in 1952 as KWAD, and in 1968 the station's call letters changed to KICR. In 1984, the FCC granted an FM license to KRUI. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. Gary Graff (born 1960) is an American music journalist and author. Biography Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Graff attended Taylor Allderdice High School where he wrote for school newspaper ''The Taylor Allderdice Foreword''. He received his Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. He wrote for the ''Detroit Free Press'' from 1982 until 1995 when there was a strike at the newspaper. Graff refused to cross the picket line and subsequently lost his job. Graff has contributed to publications including ''The New York Times'', '' Billboard'', ''The Boston Globe'' and ''San Francisco Chronicle'', as well as writing a regular column for '' Guitar World'' magazine. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups.
