Andrew Jackson Faulk
Andrew Jackson Faulk (November 26, 1814 – September 4, 1898) was an American politician. He served as the third Governors of Dakota Territory, Governor of Dakota Territory. Early life Faulk was born at Milford, Pennsylvania, Milford, Pike County, Pennsylvania, the son of John Faulk and his wife Margaret Heiner, a descendant of General Daniel Brodhead. Faulk moved with his family to Kittanning, Pennsylvania, where he was educated. He learned the printing trade and later edited the ''Armstrong County Democrat''. He studied law and became involved with the Democratic party. Faulk served as county treasurer and then joined the Pennsylvania militia. Because of the slave issue, Faulk left the Democratic party to support John C. Frémont in 1856 and Abraham Lincoln in 1860. Career Faulk was appointed chief clerk at the Yankton Agency in 1861 and worked for Dr. Walter A. Burleigh(son-in-law to A.J. Faulk). Clarence Faulk
Clarence Eugene Faulk, Jr. (January 9, 1909 – March 5, 2010), was an American journalist who published from 1931 to 1962 the ''Ruston Daily Leader'', the daily newspaper in Ruston in north Louisiana. Through the ownership of KRUS-AM radio, Faulk was a broadcaster. He was also engaged in real estate and a pioneer of self-storage warehousing, a business that he did not launch until after he was seventy years of age. Biography Faulk was born in West Monroe in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, to C. E. Faulk, Sr. (1878–1951), and the former Josephine McClendon (1882–1962). Clarence Faulk, Sr. published the ''Monroe News Star'' in Monroe, Louisiana, and was a founder and the president from 1934 to 1945 of Delta Air Lines. Henry Faulk (22 December 1907 – 4 October 2001) was an Executive Field Officer responsible for a program that aimed to "re-educate" 400,000 German Prisoners of War held in England at the end of World War II. Life and career Henry Faulk was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and grew up in Dunshalt (also spelt Dunshelt), Fife. He went to school in Dundee, then studied Modern Languages at the University of Glasgow. Faulk joined the British Army at the outbreak of World War II, initially working as an interpreter with the Intelligence Corps. Towards the end of the war at the age of 37, Faulk was seconded to the Political Intelligence Department (later renamed the Prisoner of War Division; POWD) of the Foreign Office, and became an Executive Field Officer responsible for a program that aimed to "re-educate" 400,000 German Prisoners of War held in England. John Henry Faulk (August 21, 1913 – April 9, 1990) was an American storyteller and radio show host. His successful lawsuit against the entertainment industry helped to bring an end to the Hollywood blacklist. Early life John Henry Faulk was born in Austin, Texas, to Methodist parents Henry Faulk and his wife Martha Miner Faulk. John Henry had four siblings. Kevin Troy Faulk (born June 5, 1976) is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons with the New England Patriots. He played college football for the LSU Tigers, receiving first-team All-American honors, and was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 1999 NFL draft. Mary Lena Faulk (April 15, 1926 – August 3, 1995) was an American professional golfer. Faulk was born in Chipley, Florida. At the age of 14 she moved to Thomasville, Georgia, where she won three consecutive Georgia Women's Amateur Matchplay Championships from 1946 to 1948. In 1953, Faulk won the U.S. Women's Amateur. In 1954 she lost in the semi-finals to Mickey Wright. That year she was a member of the U.S. team that defeated Great Britain to win the Curtis Cup and in Georgia, she won the state's 1954 Medal Play Championship. Faulk turned professional in 1955 and in her rookie year on the LPGA Tour finished second at the U.S. Women's Open. She retired from the pro tour in 1965 having won 10 tournaments including the Women's Western Open which was then one of the women's major golf championships. Michael Anthony Faulk (September 10, 1953 – November 11, 2014) was an American jurist and politician. Faulk was born in Kingsport, Tennessee. In November 2008, he was elected to the Tennessee State Senate, defeating incumbent Micheal R. Williams by the narrow margin of 29,417 to 29,171. He was a Republican, representing Claiborne, Grainger, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, and Union counties. Before his election to the Senate, he worked as a personal injury attorney in Church Hill, Tennessee. In March 2012, he announced he would not be seeking re-election for a second term.
