Fanni Garát-Gasparics
Fanni Garát-Gasparics (born 20 November 1994) is a Hungarian ice hockey forward and member of the Hungarian national ice hockey team, currently playing in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) with Ottawa. Playing career She was selected by the Minnesota Whitecaps in the 2021 NWHL International Draft on 25 July 2021. International play Garát-Gasparics represented Hungary at the 2012 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship – Division I and was a standout player on the team as they claimed gold in the tournament and gained promotion to the Top Division. Hungary, a newcomer to the World U18 stage, went undefeated in the tournament to produce what was long considered the greatest success in the history of the Hungarian women's ice hockey. Metropolitan Riveters
The Metropolitan Riveters (originally the New York Riveters) are a professional women's ice hockey team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with home games at the American Dream Meadowlands ice rink. They were one of the four charter franchises of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), now known as the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Its team name and logo are based upon Rosie the Riveter, the subject of the World War II-era motivational poster "We Can Do It!". The Riveters played one season in Brooklyn before moving to the New Jersey Devils practice rink in Newark, New Jersey, in 2016. Hungary Women's National Ice Hockey Team
The Hungarian women's national ice hockey team () represents Hungary at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women's World Championship and other senior international women's tournaments. The women's national team is organized by the Magyar Jégkorong Szövetség (Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation). The Hungarian women's national team was ranked 12th in the world in 2020. They hosted and won the 2019 World Championship Division I Group A tournament in Budapest. The victory earned promotion to the Top Division for the first time in team history. Ice hockey increased in popularity among women in Hungary during the later part of the 2010s. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zürich, Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). The IIHF Women's World U18 Championship, officially the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship, is an annual ice hockey tournament for national women's under-18 (U18) ice hockey teams, administrated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It is the junior edition of the IIHF Women's World Championship and participation is limited to female ice hockey players under 18 years of age. The 2012 World Women's U18 Championship Division 1 tournament was played in Tromsø, Norway, from 29 December 2011 to 4 January 2012. The qualification tournament was played in Asiago, Italy, from 29 November to 4 December 2011. Featuring the "biggest success in Hungarian women's hockey" the young Magyars won all ten of their games and get the opportunity to compete with the elite hockey nations in 2013.
