Fahad Ag Almahmoud (died 1 December 2024) was a Malian Imghad Tuareg militant who served as the secretary-general of GATIA from its formation in 2014 until 2023, when he split from the group and formed his own faction of GATIA. Biography Almahmoud first began serving in GATIA at the start of the group's foundation in 2014, where he became the secretary-general of the group. Almahmoud was an Imghad Tuareg, the Tuareg clan that predominantly composes GATIA. He often served as the spokesperson for the group as well, conducting numerous interviews with Malian and international media. Abrar Fahad (12 February 1998 – 7 October 2019) was a Bangladeshi university student who died following a severe torture by members of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of the Awami League party. The assault was allegedly motivated by a Facebook post in which he criticized Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s state visit to India. Fahad was a second-year student in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Fahd Qawasmi (1934–1984) was a Palestinian agricultural engineer and a member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). He was the mayor of Hebron between 1976 and 1980.
