F.C. Nomads Of Connah's Quay
FC Nomads of Connah's Quay, also known as FC Nomads, is an association football club in Connah's Quay Flintshire, Wales. It was founded in 2009 when, during the 2008–09 season, stories started to circulate that Connah's Quay may lose its football team for the first time since 1890, and that they might merge with local rivals Flint. A group of long time supporters and local football experts set out to preserve football in Connah's Quay. In July 2019 the club announced that they had withdrawn from the league but had not folded. History Connah's Quay F.C. was founded in 1890. Owing to concerns that Gap Connah's Quay Nomads were about to be dissolved, supporters of the club came together to form a phoenix club. They were placed in the Clwyd League Division two. Gap Connah's Quay Nomads complained about the new club to the Clywd League, accusing them of "hijacking" their name. Welsh National League (Wrexham Area)
The Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) was a football league in Wales and operated at level 3 and 4 of the Welsh football league system in Flintshire and Wrexham County Borough, but with some teams from Denbighshire (Corwen and Llangollen Town) and Gwynedd (Llanuwchllyn). For sponsorship purposes it was last known as the ''Guy Walmsley & Co Welsh National League''. The Airfield
The Airfield, also known by its sponsored name as the Hollingsworth Group International Airfield, is a football stadium in Broughton, Flintshire, Wales. It is home to Airbus UK Broughton F.C., who play in the Cymru Premier. In 2014, the grass surface was replaced with a 3G synthetic pitch. Connah's Quay
Connah's Quay ( cy, Cei Connah), known locally as "The Quay" and formerly known as Wepre, is a town and community in Flintshire, lying within the Deeside conurbation along the River Dee, near the border with England. It is the largest town in Flintshire. It is located west of Chester and can be reached by road from the A548, by rail from the nearby Shotton railway station, and also is on the National Cycle Network Route 5. It also lies just south of Deeside Industrial Park, one of the largest such complexes in the region. The major part of Tata steelworks is also on the town's border on the north bank of the River Dee. The Cymru Alliance League (known for sponsorship reasons as Huws Gray Alliance) was a football league in north and central Wales which formed the second level of the Welsh football league system. From the 2019/20 season onwards, it was replaced by the Cymru North. If the team which finished top of the league held a Domestic Licence, it could apply for promotion to the Welsh Premier League and was replaced by one of the bottom two teams in the Welsh Premier League.
