Turkish Name
A Turkish name consists of an ''ad'' or an ''isim'' (given name; plural ''adlar'' and ''isimler'') and a ''soyadı'' or ''soyisim'' (surname). Turkish names exist in a "full name" format. Ezginin Günlüğü
Ezginin Günlüğü (''Melody's Diary'' in Turkish) is a Turkish band formed in 1982 in Istanbul by Emin İgüs, Hakan Yılmaz, Şebnem Başar, Tugay Başar, and Vedat Verter. Shortly after its foundation, three new members joined the band: Nadir Göktürk, Tanju Duru, and Cüneyt Duru. They made their first concert in 1983. Their first album, ''Seni Düşünmek'' (To think of You), was released in 1985. The original group dissolved itself in 1990, following personal disagreements on the kind of music different members wanted to make. However, Nadir Göktürk, without the approval of the other group members, brought in new members and continued to perform under the same name. Hüsnü Arkan and Fatih Saçlı have joined the band and the first album involving them, ''İstavrit'', was released in 1993. Eylem Elif Maviş
Eylem Elif Maviş, née Koç, (born November 9, 1973) is the first Turkish woman mountaineer to climb Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. Elif was born on in Tokat, Turkey. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering and a Master of Science degree in business administration from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. She holds another master's degree from the University of Iowa. A management systems specialist, she works as a software engineer. On July 22, 2005, she successfully summited Gasherbrum II (8,035 m), the 14th highest peak of the world, with a Turkish team comprising six members. She and her teammate Burçak Özoğlu Poçan became the first Turkish women to climb over 8,000 m. Turkey took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997. The country was represented by Şebnem Paker and Grup Etnic with the song "Dinle" written by Mehtap Altıntemiz and composed by Levent Çoker. Eylem Şenkal (born 21 June 1976) is a Turkish model, TV star and volleyball player in Turkey. She did her secondary studies in Kadir Has High School and then registered at Istanbul University and she graduated in Sport Academy of Marmara University. In sports, she was a professional volleyball player for Fenerbahçe and she played for the national team. She also played for Yeşilyurt.
