The Buddy Miles Express was a musical group fronted by American drummer and vocalist Buddy Miles. It was formed after the 1968 breakup of Miles's earlier group, Electric Flag. They released a total of four albums. Background 1968 The Buddy Miles Express was formed after the Electric Flag, of which Miles was a member, broke up in 1968. Cactus is an American rock band formed in 1969. It is currently comprising Jimmy Kunes as lead singer, guitarist Paul Warren, drummer Carmine Appice, bassist Jimmy Caputo and Randy Pratt on harmonica. History Original lineup and initial run (1969–1972) Cactus was conceived in late 1969 by former Vanilla Fudge members bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice, after plans to team up with guitarist Jeff Beck were canceled when Beck had an automobile accident and was out of the music scene for over a year. ''Booger Bear'' is an album released by The Buddy Miles Express in 1973. It was released in both stereo and quadraphonic formats. It made the ''Billboard'' charts in 1974. Background The album received a positive review in the November 23, 1973 issue of ''Billboard''. The reviewer referred to it as a production of the first order with time and care being put into the selections. The songs "Why" and "United Nations Stomp", both composed by Miles were singled out as solid entries. The album was also released in the Quadraphonic SQ Matrix. A review in the February, 24 issue ''Billboard'' for Quadrasonic albums mentioned the spectrum being opened up by the Columbia sound engineers. Osibisa is a Ghanaian-Caribbean Afro rock band founded in London in the late 1960s by four expatriate West African and three London-based Caribbean musicians.
