Execution Of Jeffrey Landrigan
The execution of Jeffrey Timothy Landrigan (March 17, 1962 – October 26, 2010), who had been convicted of murder in the state of Arizona, was carried out on October 26, 2010, by lethal injection. Landrigan was found guilty of murdering Chester Dean Dyer during an armed burglary. At the time of the murder, he was a fugitive who'd escaped from an Oklahoma prison, where he was serving a 20-year sentence for the 1982 murder of Greg Brown, his best friend. Landrigan was initially sentenced to death in that case, but his conviction was later overturned and he pleaded guilty to second degree murder. The jury found him guilty of murder and Landrigan himself prevented his defense attorney from presenting any mitigating evidence.
