Evidence (Faith No More Song)
"Evidence" is a 1995 single by "Faith No More", taken from their fifth studio album, '' King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime''. Recorded in Bearsville Studios and produced by Andy Wallace, the song was born out of a period of transition for the group, who had recently fired their previous guitar player Jim Martin and were dealing with the absence of keyboard player Roddy Bottum, who was grieving several recent deaths. A soul- and R&B-influenced track, "Evidence" was released as the third single from the album on May 8, 1995, and was accompanied by a music video directed by Walter Stern. Although "Evidence" did not fare well in the United States, it spent several weeks in the charts in the United Kingdom and Australia, and has subsequently been well-received by music critics. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American Rock music, rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before September 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. Andy Wallace (born 1947) is an American record producer and audio and mixing engineer. Over the years, he focused exclusively on mixing. Career Wallace was born in New Jersey. In 1974, he began his career as a chief engineer in his own studio in Los Angeles. After a few years of moderate success, he returned to New York City during the emergence of hip-hop in the early 1980s. Following the breakout success of the 1986 production of the Run-DMC–Aerosmith collaboration on "Walk This Way" with Rick Rubin, Wallace went on to work with The Cult, Slayer, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Sepultura, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Sonic Youth, Rage Against the Machine, Guns N' Roses, Linkin Park, Paul McCartney, Avenged Sevenfold, and many others. Dean Menta (born January 1, 1966) is an American music editor and composer living in Los Angeles, California. Biography In 1995, Dean Menta became involved in the band DUH and appeared on their second album ''The Unholy Handjob''. Menta went on to serve as the guitarist for the rock band Faith No More from 1995 to 1996. He had been a keyboard tech for the band, first meeting them in 1991, while working at a San Francisco art gallery. Menta was recruited to handle guitar duties after Trey Spruance declined to tour for the album '' King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime''. ''Angel Dust'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Faith No More, released on June 16, 1992, by Slash and Reprise Records. It is the follow-up to 1989's highly successful '' The Real Thing'', and was the band's final album to feature guitarist Jim Martin. It was also the first album where vocalist Mike Patton had any substantial influence on the band's music, having been hired after the other band members had written and recorded everything for ''The Real Thing'' except vocals and most of the lyrics. Walter Adrian Stern (born 16 November 1965 in Marylebone, London) is an English music video film director. Biography Walter Stern was born in 1965 to an Austrian-Jewish father and an English mother. Roswell Christopher Bottum (born July 1, 1963) is an American musician, best known as the keyboardist for the San Francisco alternative metal band Faith No More. James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961) is an American guitarist who played with the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. Career In the early 1980s, Martin played guitar in the thrash metal band Vicious Hatred. Faith No More Martin joined Faith No More in 1983, four years after the group's formation.
