Everybody's Fine (1990 Film)
''Everybody's Fine'' ( it, Stanno tutti bene) is a 1990 Italian drama film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore who co-wrote the screenplay with Tonino Guerra and Massimo De Rita. It won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury (Giuseppe Tornatore) and was nominated for Golden Palm (Giuseppe Tornatore) at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. It also won the David di Donatello Awards for David Best Music (Ennio Morricone) and the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists for Silver Ribbon Best Original Story (Giuseppe Tornatore). The film was remade in 2009 as '' Everybody's Fine'' with an American setting and starring Robert De Niro, and again in 2016 in China also as '' Everybody's Fine'' in 2016. Giuseppe Tornatore
Giuseppe Tornatore (born 27 May 1956) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He is considered one of the directors who brought critical acclaim back to Italian cinema.Katz, Ephraim, "Italy," ''The Film Encyclopedia'' (New York: HarperResource, 2001), pp. 682-685. In a career spanning over 30 years he is best known for directing and writing drama films such as '' Everybody's Fine'', '' The Legend of 1900'', '' Malèna'', '' Baarìa'' and '' The Best Offer''. Pagliacci
''Pagliacci'' (; literal translation, "Clowns") is an Italian opera in a prologue and two acts, with music and libretto by Ruggero Leoncavallo. The opera tells the tale of Canio, actor and leader of a commedia dell'arte theatrical company, who murders his wife Nedda and her lover Silvio on stage during a performance. ''Pagliacci'' premiered at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan on 21 May 1892, conducted by Arturo Toscanini, with Adelina Stehle as Nedda, Fiorello Giraud as Canio, Victor Maurel as Tonio, and Mario Ancona as Silvio. Soon after its Italian premiere, the opera played in London (with Nellie Melba as Nedda) and in New York (on 15 June 1893, with Agostino Montegriffo as Canio). Tosca
''Tosca'' is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. It premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on 14 January 1900. The work, based on Victorien Sardou's 1887 French-language dramatic play, '' La Tosca'', is a melodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples's control of Rome threatened by Napoleon's invasion of Italy. ''Everybody's Fine'' ( Chinese: 一切都好）is a 2016 Chinese family comedy film directed by Zhang Meng. It was released in China on January 1, 2016. It is the second remake of 1990 Italian film of the same name. Plot Zhiguo Guan, a retired geologist, has been communicating with his four children through his wife for years. Although he loves them, he has a difficult time expressing it, as he sits in his home. After his wife died, Guan suddenly realized the distance between himself and his children. He expects to finally see his children at a family reunion, however, none of them are able to attend. He then travels to different part of the country alone to visit his "smug" and "grown" children.
