Eutypa Guttulata
''Eutypa'' is a genus of fungi in the family Diatrypaceae. The widespread genus was estimated to contain 32 species in 2008, and then 68 by 2023. Anamorphic forms include the genera ''Libertella'' and '' Cytosporina''. The genus was circumscribed in 1863 by the French mycologists and brothers Louis and Charles Tulasne. Some species are frequently found as phytopathogens (parasitic organisms) of grape crops. Christian Hendrik Persoon
Christiaan Hendrik Persoon (31 December 1761 – 16 November 1836) was a Cape Colony mycologist who is recognized as one of the founders of mycology, mycological Taxonomy (biology), taxonomy. Early life Persoon was born in Cape Colony at the Cape of Good Hope, the third child of an immigrant Pomeranian father, Christiaan Daniel Persoon, and Netherlands, Dutch mother, Wilhelmina Elizabeth Groenwald. His mother died soon after he was born. In 1775, at the age of thirteen, he was sent to Europe for his education. His father died a year later in 1776. Education Initially a student of theology at University of Halle-Wittenberg, Halle, Persoon switched his studies to medicine, which he pursued in Leiden and then Göttingen. He received a doctorate from the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher in Erlangen 1799.
