Eurovision Song Contest 2012
The Eurovision Song Contest 2012 was the 57th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, following the country's victory at the with the song "Running Scared (Ell & Nikki song), Running Scared" by Ell & Nikki, Ell and Nikki. It was the first time Azerbaijan hosted the contestonly four years after the country made its debut. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster İctimai Television (İTV), the contest was held at the Baku Crystal Hall, and consisted of two semi-finals on 22 and 24 May, and a final on 26 May 2012. The three live shows were presented by Azerbaijani television presenter Leyla Aliyeva (presenter), Leyla Aliyeva, newsreader Nargiz Birk-Petersen and singer Eldar Gasimov, the latter of whom was one of the previous edition's winners. Baku Crystal Hall
Baku Crystal Hall ( Azerbaijani: ''Bakı Kristal Zalı'') is an indoor arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is located on the coast of Baku near National Flag Square. Construction of the arena began in August 2011 and finished in April 2012in time for it to host its first major event, the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. History Baku Crystal Hall was built in order to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. On 2 August 2011, the main agreement was signed with Alpine Bau Deutschland AG to construct the venue and preparations for construction had been started in the area. Although the full cost of the contract was not named, the government is known to have allocated 6 million AZN for the construction of the venue. Poland has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since its debut in . The Polish participating broadcaster in the contest is (TVP). The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the 54th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Andrea Demirović
Andrea Demirović ( sr-cyrl, Андреа Демировић; born 17 June 1985), also known as simply Andrea, is a Montenegrin singer and a student of the Cetinje Music Academy – ''Music Pedagogy''. Demirović was born in Podgorica, Montenegro (then part of SFR Yugoslavia). Her breakthrough came at the Sunčane Skale festival in 2002. She then had considerable successes at regional festivals, including the Serbo-Montenegrin and Montenegrin national finals for selecting the Eurovision Song Contest entry. Her first album, titled "Andrea", was released in 2006, under the City Records label. Azad Azerbaijan TV (), also known by its acronym ATV, is an Azerbaijani privately-owned national terrestrial television channel. It is owned by the Azad Azerbaijan Independent Teleradio Company. The manat (ISO 4217, ISO code: AZN; Currency symbol, sign: ₼; abbreviation: m) is the currency of Azerbaijan. It is subdivided into 100 ''gapiks''. The first iteration of the currency emerged in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and its successor, the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, with the issues happening in 1919–1923. State Flag Square () is a public square situated along Neftchiler Avenue in Bayil, Baku, Azerbaijan.
