European Route E22 In Sweden
The European route E22 in Sweden goes between Trelleborg and Norrköping and is a part of the European route E22. The Swedish E22 has mixed standard, varying between motorway (''motorväg''), two-lane expressway (''motortrafikled''), 2+1 road (''mötesfri motortrafikled'') and a fairly wide ordinary road. It is generally built from around 1950 until today and more is under construction and even more is planned. Sweden's first motorway Malmö-Lund (from 1953) is included in E22 as well as motorways opened in 2014. Trelleborg
Trelleborg () is a town in Skåne County, Sweden, with 43,359 inhabitants as of 31 December 2015. It is the southernmost town in Sweden located some west from the Smygehuk, southernmost point of Sweden and the Scandinavian Peninsula. It is one of the most important ferry towns in Scandinavia as well as around the Baltic Sea, and the main town of the Söderslätt agricultural areas. Etymology The first written record of the name is from 1257, ''Threlæburgh''. The name is found in many places in Scandinavia. ''Borg'' means ''castle'' or ''stronghold'' and ''träl'' can mean thrall, but can also refer to the leaning poles on the outside of the medieval Viking stronghold. Sjöbo
Sjöbo is a locality and the seat of Sjöbo Municipality in Skåne county, Sweden with 6,724 inhabitants in 2010. Overview Sjöbo started growing when it became a stop on the railway between Malmö (to the west) and Simrishamn (to the east) in the early 20th century. Today the town of Sjöbo cannot be reached by rail, but a road through central Scania crosses the municipality and town, while another large road from east to west also crosses it. Kävlinge
Kävlinge () is a locality and the seat of Kävlinge Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 32,341 inhabitants in 2021. In 1996, a train containing large amounts of ammonia derailed and around 9,000 people had to be evacuated from the area. This was the biggest evacuation operation in Swedish history. Near Kävlinge is the site of the Hög passage grave, a Bronze Age barrow covering a Neolithic burial chamber. Hög means mound from the Old Norse word ''haugr'' for hill. The finds from the excavations are in the Lund University Historic Museum. Ideon Science Park
Ideon Science Park in Lund is the oldest, largest and one of the best known science parks in Sweden. In 2019, it became the first UN certified science park in the world. There is about of office and lab space in over 17 buildings. Bluetooth was created in Ideon Science Park. St Ericsson, Sony, Ericsson, Axis Communications, Active Biotech and Gambro all have their development centres right beside the park, and Mblox have one of their two Swedish offices here, with the other in Stockholm. Dalby, Lund
Dalby () is a locality and short-lived (11th century) former Latin Catholic diocese situated in Lund Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 6732 inhabitants in 2019. It is located about 10 km East-southeast of Lund, and about 20 km East-northeast of Malmö. Dalby was a municipality up until 1974, when it became part of Lund municipality. Arlöv
Arlöv () is the seat of Burlöv Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden. It is statistically not defined as a locality of its own, but forms part of the contiguous city of Malmö, 5 km northeast of downtown Malmö. Out of Malmö's 344,000 inhabitants, 11,000 live in Arlöv. Simrishamn is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Simrishamn Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 6,527 inhabitants in 2010. Staffanstorp is a locality and the seat of Staffanstorp Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 14,808 inhabitants in 2010. Staffanstorp is the largest Scanian settlement that never acquired town privileges before their abolishment in Sweden in 1971.
