EuroLeague
The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe. The league consists of 20 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league. The league was first organized by FIBA in 1958, subsequently by ULEB in 2000 and then solely by Euroleague Basketball. The competition was introduced in 1958 as the FIBA European Champions Cup (renamed the FIBA EuroLeague in 1996), which operated under FIBA's umbrella until Euroleague Basketball was created for the 2000–01 season. The FIBA European Champions Cup and the EuroLeague are considered to be the same competition, with the change of name being simply a re-branding. 2023–24 EuroLeague
The 2023–24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 24th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague, and the 14th under the title sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 67th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. For the third straight season, CSKA Moscow had their EuroLeague license rescinded following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Additionally, due to the war in Gaza, Maccabi Tel Aviv played abroad during most of the season, principally at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade; all games were behind closed doors. The 2024–25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 25th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague, and the 15th under the title sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this is the 68th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. The season began on 3 October 2024 and ended on 25 May 2025 with the Final Four. The Final Four will be held at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which marks the first time in European basketball history that the game is played outside of the continent. 2016–17 EuroLeague
The 2016–17 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 17th season of the modern era of Euroleague Basketball and the seventh under the title sponsorship of the Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 60th season of the premier level competition for European men's professional basketball clubs. This was the first season in which the competition changed to a league format, with sixteen teams playing each other in a home-and-away round-robin competition. Regular season groups were abolished, as well as the Top 16 group stage. The Final Four was hosted by the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul, Turkey. PBC CSKA Moscow () is a Russian professional basketball team based in Moscow, Russia. The club is a member of the VTB United League, and was a member of the EuroLeague. The 2025–26 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague is the 26th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague, and the 16th under the title Sponsor (commercial), sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this is the 69th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. 2000–01 Euroleague
The 2000–01 Euroleague was the inaugural basketball season of the EuroLeague, under ULEB and its newly formed Euroleague Basketball Company authority. Overall it was the 44th season of the premier competition for European men's professional basketball clubs overall. Initially it was not recognised or sanctioned by FIBA and considered a breakaway competition. It started on October 16, 2000, with a regular season game between hosts Real Madrid Teka and Olympiacos, which was held at the Raimundo Saporta Pavilion, in Madrid, Spain, and it ended with the last championship finals game on May 10, 2001, which was held at the PalaMalaguti arena, in Bologna, Italy.
