EuroHockey Nations Trophy
The Men's EuroHockey Championship II, formerly known as the Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy, is a competition for European national field hockey teams. It is the second level of European field hockey Championships for national teams. Underneath the Championship II there exists at least one division of the EuroHockey Nations Challenge, like European Championship III. 2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy
The 2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy was the first ever edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy, the second level of the men's European field hockey championships organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held in Rome, Italy from 11 to 17 September 2005. The number one and two were promoted to the "A"-level, the 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, while the number seven and eight were relegated to the "C"-level, the 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Challenge I. 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy
The 2007 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy was the second edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy, the second level of the European field hockey championships organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held in Lisbon, Portugal from 9 to 16 September 2007. Whilst both Austria and Poland were promoted to the EuroHockey Championship in 2009, Poland defeated Austria to win the title. Poland, Austria, and Switzerland qualified from this event to the WorldHockey Olympic Qualifier Tournaments in 2008. Qualified teams Format The eight teams were split into two groups of four teams. The top two teams advanced to the semi-finals to determine the winner in a knockout system. The bottom two teams play in a new group with the teams they did not play against in the group stage. The 2017 Men's EuroHockey Championship II was the seventh edition of the EuroHockey Championship II, the second level of the European field hockey championships. It was held from the 6th to the 12th of August 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland. Penalty Shoot-out (field Hockey)
In field hockey, a penalty shootout is a method used to decide which team progresses to the next stage of a tournament (or wins the tournament) following a tied game. Two methods have been used: the original penalty stroke competition is a best-of-five penalty strokes with sudden death if scores were level after five strokes. An alternate penalty shoot-out competition was introduced at major tournaments in 2011. Sometimes known as a penalty shuffle, the method is similar to penalty shots in ice hockey and consists of one-on-ones between an attacking player and a goalkeeper.
