''Eugnosta brownana'' is a species of moth of the family Tortricidae. It is found in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and possibly Mexico Mexico ( Spanish: México), officially the United Mexican States, is a country in the southern portion of North America. The length of the forewings is 4.2–7.1 mm for males and 4.6–7.1 mm for females. The forewings are buff-yellow, but the costa is pale reddish brown at the base. The postmedian fascia are reddish brown and the subterminal fascia are reddish brown. The hindwings are pale grey to buff-yellow, overlaid with grey scales. Etymology The species is named for John W. Tortricidae
The Tortricidae are a family of moths, commonly known as tortrix moths or leafroller moths, in the order Lepidoptera. This large family has over 11,000 species described, and is the sole member of the superfamily Tortricoidea, although the genus '' Heliocosma'' is sometimes placed within this superfamily.
