Eudunda Railway Station
Eudunda railway station was located at the junction of the Morgan railway line and the Robertstown railway line. Situated in the town of Eudunda, South Australia, it was located 111 kilometres from Adelaide by rail. History Opening Eudunda railway station opened on 23 September 1878 as part of the final extension of the Northern Railway from the existing terminus at Kapunda. The extension helped to provide a connection to the Murray River. The station facilities included a stone station building on a passenger platform and a goods shed. Infrastructure to provide water to steam locomotives was also provided, including a water column and water tank at the southern end of the station, and a large dam that held nearly 4 million gallons of water. The dam burst in 1903, 1913, and 1915 due to heavy weather events. The most serious of these was in 1913 as a large thunderstorm caused the town to flood and significant damage to the dam, as the dam burst was unable to be stopped early. ...

Eudunda
Eudunda is a rural town in South Australia, roughly 103 kilometres northeast of Adelaide, established in 1870 after settlers began moving into the area in the 1860s. As of the 2006 census, Eudunda had a population of 640. Eudunda is in the Regional Council of Goyder local government area, the South Australian House of Assembly electoral district of Stuart and the Australian House of Representatives Division of Grey. Etymology and Nomenclature The town name of Eudunda originates from the name of the spring to the west of the town, which local Aboriginal people called ''judandakawi.'' According to Dr. Phillip Clarke of the South Australian Museum, ''judandakawi'' means 'sheltered water.' Alternative translations appear as ''Eudundacowi, Eudandakawi,'' or ''Eudundacowie.'' Ngadjuri
The Ngadjuri people are a group of Aboriginal Australian people whose traditional lands lie in the mid north of South Australia with a territory extending from Gawler in the south to Orroroo in the Flinders Ranges in the north. Name Their ethnonym is derived from two words: ''ŋadlu'', meaning 'we' and ''juri'' signifying "man", hence "we men". Language Wilhelm Schmidt proposed that, together with the languages of the Kaurna, Narungga and Nukunu, the Ngadjuri language formed one of the elements of a subgroup he called the Miṟu languages. It is now classified as a member of the Thura-Yura language family. Elements of the vocabulary were recorded by Samuel Le Brun, step-son of one of the Canowie Station proprietors, R. Boucher James. Colin Thiele
Colin Milton Thiele AC (; 16 November 1920 – 4 September 2006) was an Australian author and educator. He was renowned for his award-winning children's fiction, most notably the novels '' Storm Boy'', '' Blue Fin'', the '' Sun on the Stubble'' series, and ''February Dragon''.
