Estonia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2008
Estonia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "", written by Priit Pajusaar, Tarmo Leinatamm, Hannes Võrno, Peeter Oja, and Glen Pilvre, and performed by the group Kreisiraadio. The Estonian participating broadcaster, (ERR), organised the national final in order to select its entry for the contest. Ten songs competed in the national final and the winner was selected over two rounds of public voting. In the first round, the top three were selected to qualify to the superfinal. In the superfinal, "" performed by Kreisiraadio was selected as the winner. Estonia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 20 May 2008. Marko Reikop (born 19 June 1969 in Tallinn) is an Estonian TV host. He graduated from the Tallinn University on bibliography and is employed by radio and TV channels of the Estonian Public Broadcasting since 1991. Birgit Sarrap (; born 24 September 1988), also known mononymously as Birgit, is an Estonian singer. She rose to prominence in 2007 after winning the first season of ''Eesti otsib superstaari'', the Estonian version of '' Idol''. Her debut self-titled studio album was later released in 2008. Raadio Uuno was an Estonian radio station. The station began operating in 1994, becoming the first music channel in Estonia. Radio Uuno is owned by the largest radio group in Estonia AS TRIO LSL.
