Estonia's Strongest Man () is an annual strongman competition held in Estonia and featuring exclusively Estonian athletes. The contest was established in 1999. Rauno Heinla holds the record for most wins with 6 titles, while Tarmo Mitt and Andrus Murumets Andrus Murumets (born 20 July 1978) is an Estonian strongman and entrant to the World's Strongest Man contest. He reached 5th in the World Rankings according to the IFSA rankings in 2008. Andrus competed in the IFSA World Championships in 2005 ... share 5 titles each. Rauno Heinla
Rauno Heinla (born 7 June 1982) is an Estonian professional strongman competitor. He is a specialist in the deadlift events and is regarded as one of the best deadlifters in the world. Strongman career Born in Tartu, Estonia, Rauno started his Strongman career in 2000 in the local strongman competition Kõrveküla rammumees. He won his first national title by winning the Estonia's Strongest Man competition in 2008. He's the only Estonian to win this title 6 times following in the footsteps of Tarmo Mitt and Andrus Murumets (who both won 5 times each). For most of his career, Rauno trained with fellow Estonian Strongman Lauri Nämi. Rauno identifies heavy stones and deadlift for reps as his favourite events, and also recognizes that he needs to improve his truck pulls and super yokes. Tarmo Mitt
Tarmo Mitt (born 22 May 1977) is an Estonian professional strongman competitor and regular entrant to the World's Strongest Man competition. He was a finalist, finishing inside the top ten, in four consecutive years from 2005 to 2008. Strongman career Mitt was 20 when he started training and competing in strongman competitions and within 2 years had won his national championships. By 2005 he had become recognised as one of the world's leading competitors with podium finishes in the World Strongman Cup happening regularly. He was invited to the World's Strongest Man finals and made the final in 2005. Despite being in the WSM final on four consecutive occasions from 2005 to 2008, he did not make the starting line-up for the 2009 event, instead being given the first reserve spot. Andrus Murumets
Andrus Murumets (born 20 July 1978) is an Estonian strongman and entrant to the World's Strongest Man contest. He reached 5th in the World Rankings according to the IFSA rankings in 2008. Andrus competed in the IFSA World Championships in 2005 finishing 4th, 5th in 2006 and 5th in 2007. Andrus has competed in the Arnold Strongman Classic 3 times, his best finish was 3rd in 2007. In 2009 he became the overall champion of the Strongman Champions League. He has been described by Svend Karlsen as having the strongest grip in the world. Having competed in 40 International strongman competitions and winning 6 of them, Andrus is among the 50 most decorated strongmen of all time. Murumets lives near Tallinn in Üksnurme, Saku Parish.
