Ernesto Maceda, Jr.
Ernesto "Ernie" Madarang Maceda Sr. (March 26, 1935 – June 20, 2016) was a Filipino politician, lawyer, and columnist who served as a Senator of the Philippines from 1971 to 1972 and again from 1987 to 1998. He served as Senate President from 1996 to 1998. Early life and career Maceda was born on March 26, 1935, in Pagsanjan, Laguna. Maceda earned his Associate in Arts degree, magna cum laude, in 1952, and Bachelor of Laws degree, cum laude, from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1956. He then finished Master of Laws, taxation and international law, at Harvard Law School, Massachusetts, US, in 1957. At the age of 23, he was hailed as the No. 1 councilor of Manila in 1959. Because of his numerous achievements in the city council, Councilor Maceda was named “Outstanding Councilor of Manila". Manila's 3rd congressional district is one of the six congressional districts of the Philippines in the city of Manila. Edward Maceda
Edward Michael Vera Perez Maceda (born October 3, 1970) is a Filipino lawyer and politician serving as the representative of Manila's 4th district since 2016. Prior to his election as congressman, he was councilor of the same district from 1995 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2016. Early life and education Maceda was born on October 3, 1970, the youngest of five sons of Ernesto Maceda and Maria Azucena, popularly known as Marichu Vera-Perez. Emmanuel "Manny" Maceda (born 1963) is a Filipino-American businessman. As a career management consultant, he was named worldwide managing partner of Bain & Company in November 2017 and took the helm in March 2018. Maceda is the first Asian leader in Bain & Company's history. Early life Manny Maceda was born in the United States and raised in the Philippines. Maria Azucena "Marichu" Vera-Perez Maceda was a Filipino film producer. Early life Maria Azucena Vera-Perez, was born on December 23, 1942 to Jose R. Perez and Azucena "Nene" Vera who owned and managed Sampaguita Pictures. Maria Azucena or Marichu, was the eldest of seven children. Career Maceda was born to the Vera-Perez family who are known for owning Sampaguita Pictures, a major production company in the Philippines from the 1930s to the 1970s. Maceda, who would be affectionally known as "Manay Ichu" within the film industry, grew to be a film producer herself. She is known for producing the 1982 film ''Batch '81'' directed by Mike de Leon and the 1978 film ''Dyesebel'' of Anthony Taylor.
