Eric González
Eric Gonzalez-Diaz (born September 5, 1986 in San Juan de la Rambla, Canary Islands) is a former professional baseball player. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of the University of South Alabama. He had previously attended Cochise Community College in Douglas, Arizona. After playing in the Padres system through 2010 he was released and signed with the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League, an independent league. He remained with independent teams for the remainder of his professional career, last playing for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League and the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association in 2013. Eric Gonzalez (born January 24, 1969) is an American attorney who is currently serving as the district attorney for Kings County in Brooklyn, New York. Gonzalez became the acting district attorney in October 2016 after his predecessor Kenneth P. Thompson, died shortly after announcing that he was stepping down to be treated for cancer. He had previously served as the chief assistant district attorney under Thompson. In September 2017, Gonzalez defeated five other candidates in the Democratic primary, all but assuring him of a full term. In November 2021, he was elected to another four-year term (through January 2026), garnering 98.8% of the vote in an uncontested election. Erik González (born August 31, 1991) is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Miami Marlins. Career Cleveland Indians Originally signed by the Cleveland Indians as a free agent in 2008, he began his professional career with the rookie-level Indians squads, where he played through the 2011 season. He was promoted to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2012, and finished the year with a .220 batting average in 60 games. He was then promoted to the Lake County Captains and Carolina Mudcats in 2013.
