Engström Motorsport
Engström Motorsport is a Swedish motorsport team owned by its driver Tomas Engström. Camaro Cup The team started competing in the Swedish Camaro Cup series in 1991. After finishing runner-up in 1993 the team and Engström took five straight championship titles, the first in 1994 and the last in 1998. Engström also won 32 of his 45 cup races. STCC Chrysler In 1999 the team moved up to race in the Swedish Touring Car Championship as the Chrysler works team under the Chrysler Racing Team Sweden name, running a 1998 spec Stratus for Engström. The car lacked paced and Engström finished 13th in the standings. The next season went better, with some top five finishes and tenth overall. The team switched name to DC Motorsport in 2001 and competed in the privateers cup, where Engström finishing third. Tomas Engström
Tomas Engström (born 18 January 1964) is a Swedish auto racing driver. He is married with four children. In the 1990s he dominated the Swedish Camaro Cup, winning five back-to-back titles between 1994 and 1998. Since then he has mainly competed in touring cars, driving in the Swedish Touring Car Championship since 1999, when he entered an independent Chrysler Stratus. After this he managed and drove for the Honda Racing Team in a Honda Accord, with his best season for the team coming in 2003, when he finished third overall. Also in 2003, he competed in four rounds of the European Touring Car Championship. In 2007, he was runner up in the S2000 Class of the European Touring Car Cup. Camaro Cup
Camaro Cup, officially the Camaro Cup 2000, is a Swedish-based stock car racing series using Chevrolet Camaro Z28s. History The idea about an American class in Swedish racing was born by the SSK acting director Robin Shorter in 1974. He spread his idea to active racers and to dealers selling American car brands. Work was begun by a group of people, including Shorter, Sven Hjansons, Picko Troberg and Göran Boström, to start a series called the ''Woodhead Super Star Cup''. The first season was held in 1975 and was won by Bo "Emma" Emanuelsson, who also won the first ever race of the championship, held at the SSK premiere at Kinnekulle Ring. Swedish Touring Car Championship
Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) was a touring car racing series based in Sweden, but also with rounds in Norway. They began operating in 1996, heavily influenced by the British Touring Car Championship and the success of BTCC racing on Swedish television. There are also a number of support classes that compete with their races alongside STCC; Radical, the Camaro Cup, Superkart, Pro Superbike, the JTCC and the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. The final STCC season was in 2010, as the series merged with the Danish Touringcar Championship to form the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Rules The cars are built according to the Super 2000 rules used in the FIA WTCC. Jens Hellström (born 9 August 1977 in Järfalla, Uppland) is a Swedish auto racing driver. World Touring Car Championship
The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations. Ryan Sharp (born 29 April 1979 in Newtonhill, Scotland) is a race car driver and team manager. He raced in the FIA GT Championship in 2007 with JetAlliance Racing in their lead No. 33 Aston Martin DBR9 – with ex-F1 Driver Karl Wendlinger as his teammate. Emmet O'Brien
Emmet O'Brien (born 7 March 1981, in Dublin) is an Irish auto racing driver. Career O'Brien started competing in the Irish Karting championships at a young age, he finished 2nd in the National Irish Formula A karting championship for PCR in 1998 and also finished 2nd in the All Ireland's in 1998 winning four races. His early racing included the British Formula Palmer Audi championship in 2000 which he competed in straight out of karting, in 2001 he competed in British Formula Ford championship for Aztec Racing. O'Brien then signed up for two years in the British SEAT Cupra Championship.
